I've had single and tandems, and the single will scatter contents around inside. A tandem axle will be much smoother on the contents. JMHO. AlRe: aluminum box for Champion 3100 generatorI had a rack built that sits on the trailer tongue above the propane bottles, that holds my Champion 2400. For a rear mounting of another rack, I had the tinfoil bumper removed, and a heavier four inch bumper installed, then I welded a receiver to the bumper and frame. (After that, one could mount any type of rack in the receiver.) I have a rack that is as long as the travel trailer is wide that mounts in that receiver, and also U-bolts to the ends of the heavy-duty bumper to stabilize it. Any thing that you mount onto the rear bumper will need to be well thought out, because that cheap bumper an RV comes with won't hold safely much more than a spare tire rack.Re: No HeatHad the exact problem. It was the sail switch inside the heater blower case. Replaced it (on-line tutorial) and everything's alright again.Re: HITCH ON TRAVEL TRAILERI tow a utility trailer behind my ultra-lite Tracer Travel Trailer. To do so without problems at all, I hired a welder to weld on a heavier bumper, and attach a receiver to the bumper and the frame. Then I purchased a Hensley Arrow Hitch, for the front of the Tracer. Absolutely no sway, and no problems. I do have a rear view camera, and I have backed up about twenty feet without problems. You just have to think about which direction to make the rear of the travel trailer to go.Re: Equal-i-zer wdh questionA weight distribution hitch isn't a sway control hitch - per se. It might afford you a small amount of anti-sway, but don't count on it. A weight distribution hitch is intended to insure you have a balance of weight on the towing vehicle, so that the steering capability isn't lacking... which will give you that small amount of sway control. Sway control can be affected by installation of sway-control bars (brakes).Re: How do I Travel with a golf cart and travel trailer with SUVIt depends on the state you are in, whether or not it is illegal to tow a second trailer. I put a Hensley Arrow hitch on my 29' bumper pull trailer. I then installed a hitch on the rear of my travel trailer. I now tow a 5x8 enclosed trailer behind my bumper pull travel trailer, and am still within legal 65' length limits. There is absolutely no sway with the Arrow hitch, and I am legal in OK, LA, AR, TX, NM, CO... those are the states I've checked with, and the only ones I travel in at the present time.Re: Bike rackhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YJK252?keywords=receiver%20mount%20bike%20rack&qid=1445099720&ref_=sr_1_68&s=outdoor-recreation&sr=1-68 This Swagman is by far the best you can get, I think... Then you need to get a U-bolt and put over the receiver and under the rack in order to make it completely stable. This is because there is too much slop between the receiver and the stinger. HTH, AlRe: Want a rear bumper hitch receiver..I also wanted one on my Tracer. You have to have a solid weld bumper, and it still isn't strong enough to hold a receiver hitch. The bumper is way too thin to support it. I waited until my warranty was out on my Tracer, and then did the following: First, I installed a Hensley Arrow hitch on my travel trailer, then I beefed up the rear end like this: I had a 2"x2" square tube (1/4" thick) welded to the bumper and the frame horns... even with the top of the bumper. Then the same 2x2 steel was welded to the frame just forward of the horns, and welded to the outer ends of the bumper. Then I added a 5/8" thick 2'x6" piece of steel to the top center. The receiver is welded to that. That strengthened the rear where it is strong enough for the receiver. I now pull a 5x8 enclosed cargo trailer behind my Tracer Travel Trailer. With both trailers connected to my 2500HD Chevy, I'm just shy of 59 feet long, which is legal in TX, NM, & CO. I wouldn't put a receiver on a Travel Trailer bumper without some added beef.Re: Drain Hot Water??When I park the travel trailer, and it's going to be there for a few weeks, I open my low point drain, and then open the hot water faucet at the bathtub. It drains the water heater except for an inch or two in the bottom. Then, before I pull out on a trip, I connect the water hose, and fill the system with water, and make sure the water heater is full, by letting it run in the bathtub til the air is out of the lines. I've had stinking water when I let it set for a couple of weeks with water in it. When I leave my house for a few days, I turn off both water heaters, turn off the water supply line, and open a low point drain that I installed in the incoming water line. I then open the farthest hot water faucet from that point, and it drains both water heaters, and all the lines under the house. I came back home one time to a broken line, and it won't ever happen again.Re: Empty Hot Water TankI drain my entire system after every outing. (Usually about 2 months or so between trips.) But if you don't want to drain complete system, at least I would open the popoff valve like bguy suggests every week or so. Reason being, mine got sour on me a couple of times. Al
