I'm thinking of installing this system on my F350 Dually 4X4 7.3 liter. Will also have to install 4 inch exhaust system from the turbo back.Re: Heat source when away for the dayI'm like Cummins12v98, I use the Cheap Heat System all winter while plugged in at he house. I keep it set at 50 degrees and it keeps everything happy. My basement is also heated by the cheap Heat System, so no worries about draining tanks, pipes. You will hear all about that it's not a cheap system but think of it as an investment in your camper and your safety. Good luck and a very safe New Year !!!,Re: Your favorite space heater? If you are a DIY kind of a person, check into the Cheap Heat System at rvcomfortsystems.com. I installed this system five years ago and my son is living in my camper fulltime and this system is worth the money. If you are going to venture out in your camper during the winter the cost of this system will save you in the long time. I filled my first tank of butane in five years from cooking, running my ice box and hot water tank. The cost of my installation Was a little over $600.00. Now the system is a little more in deman and the prices are coming down. You can't beat this system for heating the hole camper evenly and heating the under belly at the same time. I will say this over and over this is an investment you will love and make your live safer. I don't worry about winterizing my camper during the winter I keep the heater set at 50 degrees all winter long. Think about it spend $100.00 for a couple of electric portable heaters that may overload your camper wiring system and catch fires or having them in your feet all the time. What made my mind up was one outing we camped for a week and the temperature got in the low 20's and we went thru two bottles of propane. Good luck in your future and have a safe New Year !!!,Re: Has anyone insulated to cut down on furnace noise?Think about it 75% of the noise is the fire box noise. I installed the Cheap Heat system on my gas heater and have no problem with noise operation of the heater. The blower sound is not that load and the heat this system puts out is very evenly distributed and it also keeps the belly warm. I been having this system in my camper for over five years now. My son is living in my camper and is using the heater and has no problem with the heater system. I have saved on propane use and would not own another camper without this system in it. I did install theheap Heat system myself and any one with DIY ability could perform the install. I love my Cheap Heat system!Re: Heating options/opinions for the winter camping season.I too like Rusty have installed the Cheap Heat System in my Mobile Suite 36 ft. In 2010 I installed it myself and love it. my son is living in my camper now and will make use of it this winter. I have yet to fill my propane tanks sents I installed this system. You can make comments about the cost, but if you are handy in doing the work yourself it will save you about $900.00 dollars. Contact Mr. Larry at rvcomfortsystems.com and find out more on this system. If you read up on this system you will find that everybody that installed this system loves it and the one's that don't use it will not talk good about it, go figure. They think it is not cheap heat, l will say that I camp in RV parks and have not payed for any electricty yet. I keep my camper plugged into electricty while parked and the system stays set at 50 degrees all winter. Did I say I love thi system!!!Re: CheapHeat Add on for Propane FurnaceI have installed the cheap heat system from rvconfortsystem and love it. I'm going on five years also. I have a 50 amp service and have no problems with the electrical usages in the camper. From what I'm hearing this system is being installed at the factory if ask to.Re: CheapHeat installation costs? You could install it yourself. I installed mine about five years ago and it took me about 15 hours. That was working about four nights about one to two hours a night and finished it up on Saturday. I paid $686.00 for the controller, switch, phloem & the coil unit. I had to purchase a 60 amp disconnect and wiring from the 50 amp shore plug to the controller. That cost me under $100.00, well worth the hassle. I have a 2004, 36 foot Mobile Suite and love this unit. If you can read and follow instructions you can do this. Good luck!!!!Re: How you heatin?I'm guessing that the property you are staying at is not yours. How long are you going to stay t,here? I would check into posible getting an electrician to price out a 30 or 50 amp line from the main house electrical panel. I wired a hundred amp service to my shop so I could tie in my 50 amp service for my camper. This might be an option for you. Good luck!!,Re: How you heatin?I have only camped in 25 degree weather one time since I installed my cheap heat system. I sent the thermostat at 67 degrees and was very comfortable. I always camp where I have access to a 50 amp supply and if I get to that point of camping out in the wilderness I would use my gas unit. I'm only saying that I camped with three portable heaters and now love to camp with my cheap heat system. I only use the 50 amp access that I pay for!!! Good luck in all your ventures and stay safe thru the winter.Re: How you heatin?Fleet wood Where you are camping is there a 50 amp connection also or just a 30 amp & 15 / 20 amp receptical. If you have access to a 50 amp, you could make a box to convert that 50 amp to a useable two 120 volt recepticals. You also could convert your present supply from a 30 amp to a 50 amp supply. Then you could add the cheap heat system and heat your camper with no problems. I have also been using the cheap heat system in my 36 foot Moblie Suite, 2004 model going on five years also. This system cost me $658.00 total. I also used three portable heaters and a light bulb in the basement. I got tired of tripping over them and when my grandchild tipped one over and I burn't my hands from panicking & picking it up. I'm also a vol.fireman in my home town and during the winter we repond to at lease one home fire caused by these portable heaters. If I was in your shoes I would upgrade my electrical service cord to a 50 amp and install the cheap heat system. This system is something any DIY can handle. As for Pianotuna if I read his post correctly he is using one 30 amp shore power and two 15 / 20 amp extension cords at the same time. Why!!! I'm very happy with the cheap heat system and love the even heat, it also keeps my underbelly heated at the same time. Good luck with your future heating options.
