We are on our way home to Ontario from Gulf Shores Alabama and have a few extra days, so we thought that a stop in the smokey mountains for the fall colours would be really nice. Thank you for all the suggestions, we really appreciate it. We are thinking though, with it being such a busy area, maybe there somewhere else between Alabama and Ontario that would be just as nice of a stop. We are open to any ideas. Will the colours be at their peak a little farther north maybe (Oct 11-14). Thanks!Re: Smokey Mountains in OctoberWe looked further into Douglas headwater but found out that they do not allow alcohol at all in the park. We are not big booze hounds by any means but do like a glass of wine or beer by the fire, so that park is out. Guess we will look to the private parks. Suggestions?Re: Smokey Mountains in October oldokie wrote: good location if you can get in. Its showing lots of sites available for for our dates, oct 11 for 3 nights.Smokey Mountains in OctoberWe are planning to stop and spend a few days in the smokey mountains on the way home from our fall trip south. We visited several years ago and stayed at a nice park in Pigeon Forge, but were wondering about the Douglas Headwater Campground. Is it a good location for a visit to the smokey mountains or perhaps a little too far from the action? ThanksRe: Panama City Beach campsite...How mucchh???ST Andrews state park is one of our favourite parks ever. I think it is around 30$ per night, but well worth it.Re: Small town parking. Suggestions /tipsGoogle maps street view can be your best friend. We try to plan out ahead of time when we want to visit more populated areas.Re: New member looking for information about build quality Anniewhereugo wrote: Hi, I have been on the hunt for few months. I purchased a 2002 Fleetwood Prowler Linx that was very well built and light weight, but was a little too small for our needs. This trailer held its value and I had no trouble selling it. I really wanted a Forest River Mini Light 2405s (20'9" tip to tip 19 foot box) it was super quality, framless windows, you could put the murphy bed up with the mattress all messy and it was quality. For a couple thousand less I ended up with the keystone Passport Ultra lite 199. It is much lower quality and you cannot put the murphy bed up without the mattress folded (so you have to unmake the bed each day and put the b edding somewhere?????) and I would not recommend this trailer because of that. You get what yo pay for. We have a 2019 2507 with the Murphy bed. We love the usability of the trailer, it is an awesome layout for us. We love the murphy bed, so easy to open/close with bed fully made up. So much storage and very spacious inside. That being said, it is definitely not the quality of our 2013 mini lite 2109. Lots of little things that we have to tinker with and minor repairs, and our first version of it actually went back to Forest River because is was really defective. So yes, more $ gets you more bells and whistles, but the quality just isn't there. I really want to love this trailer, but I do worry about it's longevity.Cancelling TH stone state park in port st joe May 6-13Cancelling site 38 right across from beach access.Apalachicola CampgroundsWe have had to change our vacation plans due to some trailer technical issues. We are looking to book either Ho Hum, Carabella or Coastline RV resort. Any suggestions on which one? Will also be cancelling a week at St Joseph Peninsula state park Sunday may 6 to Sunday may 13. Message me if you are interested in the next day or two and we can arrange a time when I will cancel.Re: What do you do about Atlanta? We are going to be travelling west to east from Gulf Shores Alabama to Charlotte motor speedway. It will likely be a Friday afternoon. Any suggestions?
