Glad to hear that you made it to the Oaxaca Trailer park and that it is working for you. It is in all of our best interest to keep these old parks in fabulous locations open. As a side note, the Rainbow Trailer Park in Merida is open and being upgraded and made user friendly.Re: Oaxaca trailer park !We spent 2 weeks at Christmas time at the Oaxaca Trailer Park. It is definitely open and working reasonably well. We had power, hot water showers, and flushing toilets. Nothing is fancy, but the fellow who is taking care of it works very hard to make your stay a positive experience. It is so conveniently located to downtown bus routes that we wouldn't stay anywhere else.San Nicholas RV Park, San CristobalWe are headed for San Cristobal in our truck camper. Is San Nicholas Rv park still the only option? Are the directions in Church's book still the best way to go?Hwy 175 east from OaxacaWe will be leaving Oaxaca after Christmas and headed for the gulf coast. I was interested in going over the mountains on Hwy 175 and camping near the top, then proceeding to the gulf coast and then on to Chetumal. Has anyone taken this road recently ( a year or two) and are ther places to camp along the way. We will be a small group of three 4x4 pickups and fully self contained. Any suggestions of things to see and places to stay? What condition is the road in? Any precautions?Re: love MexicoWe will be doing an all around Mexico tour this winter starting the first of Nov. Will have two other rigs with us this year. Showing some friends some of our best places. Hope to see you again Croft, missed you last year. WhitRe: 2013/14 planningIf you are going that far south, don.t miss Oaxaca (city and villages, Monte Alban ruins) and think about going to Chiapas (San Christobal, Tuxla zoo)!Re: If you have stayed in Rancho Bougainvillea? No the ;ocatopn and owners were special. We now boondock on the way south at San Juan de Alima.Re: Anybody going to mainland first of November or so?I have a small group of 3 camper trucks leaving for southern Mexico at that time. We will probably be moving too fast for a big rig. Staying at Organ Pipe Natl. Monument, or at BLM lands near Why are convenient places to stay when crossing at Lukeville. As of last year, get your personal papers at the border and car papers down the road east or Caborca. Easy crossing, good roads.Re: wanting to travel down baja to San Quentin for clamming.Correction BajaNomad.comRe: wanting to travel down baja to San Quentin for clamming. For more direct and current information on Baja and specific information about how the clams are doing in the San Quintin area, I suggest you ask this question on the Baja Nomad website.
