If there is a chance, remote or otherwise, that you will be upgrading to a larger RV, I would go with the diesel. Cheers! MikeRe: Crummy headlights - Can't see, need upgradeThanks all for your input on the ZXE bulbs. I figured as much, was just hoping, like Bob, to find a frugal way to get some more light out of my driving candles. Cheers and Many Thanks, as always! MikeRe: Crummy headlights - Can't see, need upgradeHey Bob! I have used Daniel Stern Lighting for my older trucks. He builds very robust, complete light harnesses for just about any vehicle (North American). The harnesses are complete and the instructions are, well, in English. You can look him up on line. I am learning as I follow this thread. Are the Sylvania ZXE bulbs also built on the low voltage high watt burn out fast model? I was thinking about buying a foursome for my 06 Sierra 3500. Maybe not so much anymore? I replaced the drivers side housing off of Amazon and was pretty impressed with the fit, finish and design of the off shore product. Fits and works perfectly. Cheers! MikeRe: Merry Christmas to all from Uncle Bob!Merry Christmas all and good health, prosperity and happiness in 2021 Cheers! MikeRe: Carelessness strikes again Mote wrote: Been there, done that. To my son's car a few years back. He called said the car would only move in reverse. I assumed the transmission was bad as it was an old beater. I borrowed a trailer. Took a three hours round trip to pick it up and bring it home. I worked hard jacking up the car to get it off the trailer. Was quite surprised once I finally got it on the jacks and found out my error. Cliff hanger alert!! or am I missing something? What was the error? Cheers! MikeRe: kinda light postingSIGH!! Two days ago I finished re assembling my motorbike for another fun filled spring and summer season. Fired the bike up and had her purring quite nicely. That night and yesterday we received about six inches of snow. Last night our local temps dropped to about -20*. SIGH!! Cheers! MikeRe: Help Me UnderstandYup, I believe that GM uses the acronym "RCS" for Regulated Charge System" or somehthing along those lines. My 2006 Sierra 3500 does pretty much the same thing except I don't think that I have ever seen it as high as you are noting. I have seen it hit 15V under heavy operating load. Cheers! MikeRe: "Lite" 5th wheels Jayco-noslide wrote: I think that term is mainly a selling gimmick. There is no standard as to what it really means. But if a trailer is truly "lite" I would wonder what is being left out. Or what and how it's being held together. Cheers! MikeRe: Perils of RVingWell, let's see now: 6 stitches in top of head after testing the tensile strength of the king pin plate; 8 stitches just at the eye brow line after falling off the steps of the rv when my hand slipped on the wet hand rail and the dog took off to the left; 4 stitches in the lower butt cheek, narrowly missing the femoral artery and the "twins", after attempting to clear a low fence and impaling my leg on one of the pointy things; 1 poop shower after attempting to drain the black tank into a blue tote and forgetting to release the pressure cap/valve. Went to see why the hose was bulging and kaboom! just when I knelt down beside it. Craptastic event. This is just a short list, you know, for an early responce to the post. Gimme a couple of days and I'll come up with a few more! Cheers and Thanks MikeRe: Screwing into shower wall?Well, if nothing else, the thread title certainly set my mind wandering. Cheers! Mike
