But every thing I have read tells me that since I will have installed the Brake Lite Relay switch, my factory brake lights will also blink in accordance to the motorhome's combined signal. In other words, the amber lights will not come into play at all, and the CRV's brake lights will act like a combined brake light/turn signal system. I will certainly double check my owner's manual to see if there is anything in there I might have missed. As always, I really appreciate your input. How in the world would we Nomadic types make it without each other's help. I'll let you know how it all comes out. Take care.Re: Toad Set UpAva, your point is well taken. For what it's worth, not just for you, but for everyone that considers using Honda CRVs for towed vehicles, it is my understanding that there were a few 2014s that were actually outfitted with CVT transmissions and could not be flat-towed. So, if I found the perfect CRV and it happened to be a 2014, I would not assume that it absolutely could be flat-towed. I would make sure a mechanic familiar with Honda CRVs confirmed whether it had a CVT or not. By the way, I am in the process right now of outfitting a beautiful little silver 2006 CRV to share in our adventures in the years ahead. Good luck to everyone.Re: 2006 CRV - Which wiring kit did you use. ThanksOBGraham, thanks for your response. You have raised a question that I haven't considered before. I am wiring a fuse bypass with a toggle for the radio which is hot and causes a battery drain when the switch is put in accessory. I also think that on a 2006 crv there is at least one accessory outlet that is also hot when switch is on, but, that would not cause a battery drain unless something is plugged in to the accessory outlet. Beyond that, why would I need a hot wire to the battery? Wouldn't the signal wires from the motorhome light the brake lights/turn signals and tail lights? Also, remember, I am using diodes to keep the MH signals from interfering with my regular crv wiring. PS: Oh, one other thing I just realized I had omitted. I will be using the Ready Brute Elite towbar with the ReadyBrake supplemental braking system, which is totally mechanical and requires no power.Re: 2006 CRV - Which wiring kit did you use. ThanksThanks, AVA. Been a difficult decision for me. I have decided to use the Roadmaster All-in-one with the 4 diodes setup. It will use the brake lights on my crv as my turn signals also. Since my brake lights will activate when the switch is off in my car, I will also wire a brake light relay switch that will keep my brake lights from coming on unless the car is running (in normal mode only, not while being towed). Wow, this is confusing. Basically, unless I wire the brake light relay, my normal brake light activation will override the signal from the motorhome.2006 CRV - Which wiring kit did you use. ThanksNeed someone who wired a 2006 crv as a towed vehicle. Which wiring kit did you use?Re: Add taillight bulbs or use Plug and Play?Scott, I like your attitude. We don't have a huge budget for RVing so I am trying to save wherever I can. I think I will google everything I can and see if I think I can tackle this. Probably have to buy a couple of tools but that beats $300 for a professional to do it. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Thanks again for your positive comments.Re: Add taillight bulbs or use Plug and Play?Hi, everyone. I am back. I am a bit disappointed because I called Hopkins this afternoon and the person told me they don't have a plug and play that will fit a 2006 CRV. Gottem for '07 - '14, but not '06 and under. Bummer. They said I could splice the harness into the existing lights but not sure I can do that. May try to get the harness and run it in the car and then take it to a professional to splice. Just don't know at this point.Re: Add taillight bulbs or use Plug and Play? Thanks everyone for your comments. All were appreciated and helpful. I begin installing my baseplate tomorrow and when I get everything completed I will place an update on here. Thanks again and happy camping to all.Re: Add taillight bulbs or use Plug and Play? Thanks, want-a-be. Glad to know the add a bulb works well too. I appreciate the offer to help. I might just need you.Re: Add taillight bulbs or use Plug and Play? Thanks, Mike. Leaning here on the plug and play harness, too. I would be interested in how it goes for your situation. Good luck.
