My Ram 2500 is a standard cab/long bed 4x2 and the considerations were to be as lightweight as possible, minimum cab overhang, and the fact that most of my adventures were solo.Re: Camper window for aft of cab leaksYou might consider a window boot to (mostly) eliminate the issue. Most manufacturers offer one as an accessory and they aren't necessarily make/model specific. The removable pass-through window on my Northstar Laredo did well with water before I "got the boot" but blew out a couple of times if the latch wasn't very carefully closed. The pass-through is mostly kept open since the boot and heat/AC will pass back to the camper while on the road. I can also wiggle through if sufficiently motivated...Re: Can't find TC meeting my simple need.Norhtstar built an east/west cabover on my Laredo. It was a good match for my standard cab truck and reduced overall weight a bit.Re: Frost/Ice build up Dometic RefrigeratorAnother approach to frost buildup is to "head it off at the pass." Warm air can enter the cabinet through the drain tube and contribute substantially to the problem. The simple solution is to extend the drain tube 8-10" with some appropriate tubing and a barbed connector and form it into a loop creating the equivalent of a p-trap. The tube will drain normally and the bit of water trapped in the loop will block any warm air from entering the cabinet. The difference was quite dramatic for very little cost and effort.Re: Folding director type chairsThis may be what you are looking for: https://www.gcioutdoor.com/directors-chairs/pico-arm-chair.htm A less pricy option that doesn't fold quite as small: https://www.gcioutdoor.com/new-products/xpress-dc.htmRe: Range hood light I swapped out the original lamp with a 360ยบ style, wedge base LED. Zero issues after 3+ years of regular use. I also cobbled together a reflector/baffle to put the lumens where they were useful.Re: Leveling TCI've uses 2x8 blocks and ramps. Currently using the Anderson Levelers for adjustments up to 4". http://www.andersenhitches.com/Products/3604--camper-leveler.aspxRe: RV vs Wheeled VehicleOn a slightly different track, I've had some grief (and ripoff tickets) from Bay Area parking lots that insist that my truck/TC, my daily driver, is an RV - never mind that the DMV registration clearly says pickup truck. The only signage in the lots prohibits oversized vehicles, which is not the case. Apparently they can make their own rules and good luck with fighting their opinion.Re: camper pass through donutNorthstar campers also has a passthrough donut similar to the Lance item. See your local Northstar dealer or talk to Rex at Northstar.com. The one I bought works flawlessly.Re: Oxygenics Shower Head; hose questionAlternate solution: Hang one end of the hose from an overhead support - bonus for a sunny location. Weight the other end of the hose until it straightens out. Let it hang for 2-3 days. Success...
