The search continues.Re: 2007 ram 2500 4x4 durability ib516 wrote: ncfz6 wrote: schlep1967 wrote: YZ wrote: Just as an odd thought.. Wouldn't you be better off looking for a lower mileage diesel ? This thread made me look at the value of my 2007.5 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 6.7 Diesel in it. 55K miles and valued between $27,000 & $30,000 by KBB. That is a big jump from the $10K he is looking to spend. That is what I am talking about. The diesel prices are really high right now and may have always been that way. My main concern on this truck is having to replace a engine or trans right after I bought it. From the photos of the truck it looks solid except for a small worn place on the drivers seat. If I am correct the hemi uses the same axles as the diesel in the 2500 so they shouldn't have been under as much stress with the lower torque engine. Pretty close. The Hemi powered trucks used to use a 10.5" rear axle in the 2500, but now (since 2014) they use the same 11.5" axle. OK. Thanks for the info.Re: 2007 ram 2500 4x4 durability schlep1967 wrote: YZ wrote: Just as an odd thought.. This truck is near Charlotte 100 miles from me so it supposedly doesn't have any rust issues.Re: 2007 ram 2500 4x4 durabilityThat is a thought that I have looked into. Diesels are very expensive around here with lower mileage. For example I found a 1999 Ram 2500 quad cab 5.9 diesel with 88000 miles. Pretty nice truck. Asking price 20000 and truck sold within 2 weeks. I really don't need a diesel for what I pull. I have looked at a f250 with a v10 but it had some rust issues.Re: 2007 ram 2500 4x4 durability BurbMan wrote: Since it's a 1-owner truck, if you are buying privately I would ask the owner if he has service records to back up that price? If buying from a dealer, ask them to throw in an extended warranty at the price because of the mileage. That was what I was thinking. It is at a Chevrolet/Cadillac dealer in Concord.Re: 2007 ram 2500 4x4 durabilityIt is a quad cab SLT 4x4. It was in the ball park according to KBB. Price was already dropped from 13999. I was thinking more around 9000 or less. Still has a lot of miles.Re: 2007 ram 2500 4x4 durabilityI already have a travel trailer. It is a Jayco 25z. Not very heavy and I tow with a 2005 F150 but all our towing is in the mountains. Just wanted a 2500 series truck.Re: 2007 ram 2500 4x4 durabilityThanks for the reply. I have heard 6000 to 7000 would be a good price.2007 ram 2500 4x4 durabilityHello Guys, I am looking at a 2007 ram 2500 4x4 with a 5.7 and auto trans. Truck looks good but has 227000 miles on it. It is a one owner N.C truck. Price is high at 11900 I think. How durable is the Hemi engine and the auto trans? Any help will be appreciated.
