That one thing is that the WiFi is so bad it's not worth connecting to. Very slow if you can get it at all. We spent the $ on a good cellular plan and the boosting ability to get a cellular signal from further away from the tower. (WeBoost Drive 4G-X) You obviously don't live or travel in the west where cell coverage can be spotty or non-existent for much of a trip. For me, if I can occasionally connect to a wifi signal to download email I doing pretty good. Boosting a slow wifi signal out here is the difference between having no connection or some connection. I wouldn't trade it though.Re: Tracking a phone.... Following a loved ones location ScottG wrote: I like how some will start making out like the OP is the Boogie Man. Verizon has one they call the "Family Locator" and Apple has an app for it. We used it to keep track of our developementally disabled son when he was away. I get the same responses while asking about tracking my developmentally disabled daughter. Why can't people just answer the question without all the suspicions. I use a Spot beacon for travelling, hiking, mountain biking, etc. so my wife can keep track of me in case I don't show up when I'm supposed to. In my state the cell coverage is so spotty I'd never want to trust a cell signal if something happened to me. I've used it all around the world and it tracks flawlessly. The downside is that you do have to carry a separate device. But as a gadget guy I like it having its own power source so one usage can't drain the battery for another. I know I can be found even if I run my phone battery down taking pictures or something. I'm also in Search and Rescue so removing the search part is always on the top of my mind.Re: Do Not Disturb While Driving mobile feature coming RinconVTR wrote: Sorry, this is not at all special. For many years I have used apps that sense when I am driving and send automated replies to anyone texting me. It sends "Auto Reply I'm driving right now - I'll get back to you later." Before I found apps to do this, my Motorola phones had it built in. Of course one has to set it up and turn it on first! Do you really need an app for this? Every cell phone I've ever had has had this capability. The phone rings while I'm driving, I ignore it and the call goes to voicemail telling the caller I'll get back to them later. Or they text, I ignore it and get back to them sometime later. They don't need to know why I can't get back to them. The problem is that the person who would bother to use such a feature is going to use the phone when they shouldn't in the first place. The people who don't care about using their phone while driving aren't going to bother to use the app. Forcing people to use it means I can't use the phone as a passenger during a long boring trip. I would never purchase a phone that made this mandatory even though I would never use the phone while driving. That would be a deal killer for me.
