With minimal load (propane fridge and a couple USB chargers running), the batteries are at 12.9 volts. My inverter and household toaster draws about 75 amps, pulling the batteries down to 12.2 v. I switched the fridge to 12 v as an experiment, so now drawing 95 amps, and got 11.4 v. In the past, using a Keurig, I’ve seen 11.8 v on the batteries. These days I’m making coffee on the propane stove.Re: Chinese Versus TAIWAN Hand ToolsSmaller than 7/16". I'm talking about 1/4" bolts with 10mm heads.Re: Chinese Versus TAIWAN Hand Tools profdant139 wrote: Speaking of wrenches, has anyone else noticed that not all wrenches are truly sized the same?? I have some newer open-end wrenches that are marked as 7/16 (for quarter inch bolts) that seem to be "sloppy" -- they are fractionally too loose. Am I dreaming, or is that really true? I don't have a micrometer to measure the perceived sloppiness. The last 1/4" bolts I bought had smaller metric heads.Re: Do you drink.......We drink lots of water while camping, all of it from the RV tank. I ran a bit of bleach through 3 years ago, and try to drain it every year.Re: TPMMine are set at 80 cold; usually they run in the low 90's, and I've had them hit 99 on the highway in the summer. I wondered if the TPMS was maxed out at that point. Mine came with metal feet, and the support ring on one of my tanks was too thick to accommodate the feet, so I crafted some wood feet, which worked fine. The only downside is that batteries seem to last only about 6 months.Re: Anyone make drawers & slides from scratch?I've built lots of drawers in wood cabinets without metal slides. Plywood-sided drawers, preferably baltic birch or other quality plywood. Leave approx 1/8" clearance on the sides. I use solid maple for the drawer supports, for easy sliding without wear. Rub some paraffin wax where the drawer's plywood edge rubs on the maple support. The downsides are lack of full (supported) extension, and need for a mechanism to hold them closed in transit.Re: Stableloads installation problemMy set of lowers came with 4 drill bits last year - they were hard and sharp - sharpened at a very steep angle. I used my cordless drill, with the springs still on the truck in my driveway. Also used a couple blocks of wood - fulcrum and lever - to add more push to the drill. Cut through the leafs very well, though I did chip 3 of the bits on the final break-through. 2017 F-350.Re: Finally......a good way to carry extra gas (mod)! otrfun wrote: SidecarFlip wrote: Had a Pinto when I was a kid. It never blew up but it did beat (blew) the pants off a lot of cars on the street and at the track. Tubbed it and dropped in a 350 Turbocharged small block with a 400 high stall box with a 9" Ford rear out back on ladder bars. High 11's at the track with wrinkle wall MT's if you could keep it straight and off the wheelie bars. Great high school car. Wish I had it today. What a hoot. Yeah, I remember seein' a few mods like yours. That's an insane amount of engine for a small car with such a short wheelbase! Not to mention likely overweight on the front axle!Re: If price was not a consideration, Gas or Diesel?Messy fuel-up, smelly exhaust, noisy, long to warm up, heavy . . . these are the reasons I didn't consider diesel. And gas engines have plenty of power for truck campers IMO.
