Replace drive shaft with one piece? How do you lube the slip joint behind the center bearing when it's covered with a rubber seal?Re: Transmission linesFinally getting back: Truck is a 2015, 50,000 miles, seen very little snow because it's been in Texas or AZ every winter. The line that broke was the block with both lines from the top, side of the engine. I kept the piece and it looked like a small pin hole next to the connection point. It seems pretty strange to me. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems... I guess not. We've been on the road for a week so not much computer time.Transmission linesLast year we had a transmission line unclip and lost a ton a fluid on the road. Lucky us, a race car shop owner rescued us and got us going in short order. Just now a transmission line higher up in the engine compartment broke, leaving a huge mess, fortunately just as I parked at our lot. Is this something that Ram's experience? The lower ones don't have clips like Ford's and Chevy"s according to the race car shop owner. I haven't seen the current line as it's still in the shop . Just curious... A $350 line this time... sounds like something I could have done but too late now. Thx for any info.Re: Bridge height appsRVparky shows low clearance when looking at maps.Re: Fireplace removal and repurposing spaceOurs is in a cabinet counter depth, so if it was put on a hinge you'd have the best of both worlds. Lots of room for the cat while open, and hidden the rest of the time. I'd make a secret passage for the cat and only open it to clean.Re: Hydraulic codeThx. I added that good Caterpillar oil to stop the popping noises a couple years ago, but haven't been able to find it other than in Gulf Shores... Once I get things sorted out I'll stick better oil in. I had ATF onboard so anything in a pinch. It is the 6 point leveling system and it always looses its mind once in a while so I've had to reset to zero. I'll see what Lippert has to say, but swamped with projects because of AZ rain today. Thx again for all the helpRe: Hydraulic codeI'll contact Lippert tomorrow. They were helpful with the bleeding problem and sort of with the code but didn't help with my current message.. thought someone here might have had the same condition.Hydraulic codeI'm getting a code not listed in Lippert app. "Jack grounding" So, I had a hydraulic line scrape itself in the battery box to a leak. On the road of course, but I managed to find the correct line (return from slide) and get a new 27' line made... fished it down, installed, only to have it blow the new end off... bak to the shop, fix both ends again and fish it down 27' while laying either in mud, or ice depending on the day in West Memphis. I had air in the line which even after adding ATF had a touch time bleeding. It's still not completely reliable. Now the jack system is refusing to work, though I'm set up in AZ with slides out and all jacks down and level, though manually . Any clue about this "jack grounding" code? I've got some time now to sort out the problems and looking for any advice. 2015 Dynamax fiverRe: Motorhome to 5th wheelWe went from a Country Coach to a fiver a couple years ago, reluctantly I must admit, as we loved most things about the coach except the chain of events starting with hitting a deer and ending with paying thousands for non deer related events. When calculating upcoming repairs and maintenance needs, even though I could handle most events, we surrendered and took a loss. Life in our fiver is good, but my wife won't even drive the "huge" truck necessary to keep us secure on the road. I toy with the idea of going back but we're happy enough with our current arrangement I guess. We're five months in one location for the winter and driving the truck is always fun.... this ole farm boy has driven his share of rigs, but in traffic and parking lots... well, modern drivers aren't all that compassionate ... My 2 cents.Re: Furnace NoiseOH I understand the ramifications of having an open gas heater inside... with no vent either so air exchange becomes an issue... many can be hard plumbed if tolerances permit... I'm still really on the fence with them, though I do have one in my home as a backup in case of a power outage in winter.
