The #3 is just too winding & hilly to use as a return route but if you know something I don't I'd be open to ideas.British Columbia #6, 23 & 31AThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 29541832British Columbia #6, 23 & 31AWe are planning a trip from Vancouver to Kelowna & then on to Nakusp, Ainsworth & Halcyon Hot Springs. We have done Radium & Fairmont but could possibly do a repeat if we had no alternative route. We Do Not want to take the # 3 during this trip. Anyone have info on these roads or better ideas for our Hot Spring Tour. The 6, 23, 31A. We are in a 32' motorhome & Ford Edge tow vehicle. We are aware of the free ferries to use as crossings. Thanks for any help.Hwy 5 east to Susanville & south to Reno.We are a Class A gas, pulling a toad & planning to go the beginning of Sept. from Hwy 5 east to Susanville & south to Reno. Thought of the 89, 44 & 36. Anything we should be concerned with? Return route after a visit to Utah Parks is again the 5 north to Stockton CA then the 12, 80 37 west, to 101 around Petaluma. Visit the Redwoods, & then heading north to Newport Oregon, crossing back on the 20 to the 5 North. Home for Halloween:B Any suggestions on the route, issues, ideas? ThanksRe: Red Bluff to Susanville/Hwy.395 on Hwy. 36We are also in a Class A gas, pulling a toad & planning to go the beginning of Sept. from Hwy 5 east to Susanville & south to Reno. Thought of the 89, 44 & 36. Anything we should be concerned with?Re: Washington State to Vegas via stops in CaliforniaSorry it took me so long to get back on line after our adventure. Do want to let everyone know we had an absolutely great time & thanks to many of the suggestions here. We did start out with a less than stellar first day in Seattle. Someone lost a living room club chair on the #5 which a truck hit just as we were coming past it & flew it into & under our motorhome. We made it to the next rest stop & had a gas line leak & some minor body damages. Good Sam was great & after getting the fire dept. to OK moving us & spending the night at the rest stop, we got a tow & repairs done in a day. We pretty much stuck to the planned route that many of you helped us with on the way down & had great times in every stop. All through California & Lake Havasu to Vegas. As it was the end of Oct & we didn't want to get stuck with snow issues we opted for the #5 home instead of the Reno route. It was a lovely drive in the fall colours. We plan on returning to Vegas the Reno Route south this coming Sept. Again thank you to all who helped us on the planning stages for our great 2nd adventure with our Motorhome. It truly is appreciated.Re: Washington State to Vegas via stops in CaliforniaLooks like we will be heading out on Sept 10th. Can I get recommendations for places to stay in the Santa Barbara Area? We don't mind 100 mile return trips for day sight seeing in the car. That being said, if I want to see Malibu Beach, Santa Monica Pier & Venice Beach along with the walk of Fame, can I get suggestions for parks for the Motorhome please...between mountains & the city grid it looks daunting to find something.Re: Gas Line Extension part neededWill try calling on Monday. Thanks for the contact info. Kal Tire who did the oil change & had it towed to their place switched hoses. The good return line to the pressurized side & the one that failed they fixed & put on the return side. Runs good but have to admit makes me nervous.Gas Line Extension part neededTook the MH for an oil change & 2 miles down the road after the oil change it stalled & leaking some fuel. Apparently a gas line extension which has no part number on it & is about 12" long with an attachment at each end, blew & we can't find a replacement part. ANYANY ideas or suggestions appreciated. It is for a 2012 Holiday Rambler 32 ft. Aluma lite. Ford can't seem to find it, Holiday Rambler is bought & sold many times over & can't help. Kal Tire, Wescan, no one seems to know. It would take 5 minutes to install if we could find the part. Have pictures. Can Email. HELP!!Re: Washington State to Vegas via stops in CaliforniaSo we have rerouted these parts & taken the advise offered here: Sorry its a long one! "Take the 405 & 205 around Seattle & Portland." "I would stay on I-5 to 152 near Los Banos and take 152 over the hill to Watsonville, then up to Santa Cruz." Next we listened to & will follow: "at Thousand Oaks take the 23 inland, it becomes the 118, which becomes the 210. Take the 210 South to the 15 and head to LV." The return home from Virginia City to Reno & Bellingham is the last part to reconsider. Looking at the route between Virginia City & Reno & decided on 95 to 50 to 80 & Reno. Then north on 395. At Susanville to Bellingham getting to the I-5 as easily & as soon as feasible. It will be the end of Oct. & hoping there won't be any snow in higher elevations yet. Looking at this suggestion: "139 from Susanville is on the narrow side. Your rig will be riding the depressed reflectors on the centerline and at the same time riding the fog or shoulder stripe for about the first 60 miles. The good part is that it's not heavily used". Any other thoughts on this last leg? Also looking for recommendations of campgrounds along the I-5 from Eugene OR to Los Banos CA. Also Palm Springs, car driving distance from the LA Beaches. Then Lake Havasu, Reno & along the I-95 heading north from Las Vegas. Thanks so much!
