Also you list dry weights, please add 1500 pounds for family of 6 at minimum to each dry weight. Also determine hitch weight: 14% x 8,500lb is 1190 pounds plus hitch gear 150. Lbs You exceeded max hitch rate right off the bat on a 2021 Chevy suburban The GM max hitch rate of 1,000 pounds is what killed the 2500 series 3/4 ton suburban. in 2013. They have probably "pulled" (go into the edge of body side panels) possibly from heat expansion. Only a thought on my part, but this year has been good and hot in most of the country and your travels had to be in hot areas sometime this past year. As to fix, I'd pull the vinyl strips out and check the attaching screws. If they won't tighten and pull the mouldings back to proper position, maybe longer ones and some epoxy in the holes might do it. Or rotted wood beneath. X2-- Rotted wood underneath. Screws should not just pull out or loosen in good wood.Re: Surge Protector, Do I need one???I bought the Progressive industries EMS-PT30x 2 months ago and used it for one camping trip to the beach. The "cooks" kept tripping the breaker with the air on so I converted my TT to 50A service. Now I have a "new" 30A surge protector that will not be used anymore. I have ordered their 50A surge protector for the new service. I am a firm believer in these to protect my electrics in the camper.Re: Towing with a Ford Explorer Convington wrote: Lots of information in there, appreciate it everyone. I still contacted Ford, 2 Ford Dealerships (total, contacted another one today) - Ford says 5000# but requires a transmission cooler, Dealer said 5000# (I don't trust his answer at all, BTW). May have to go with a popup until the Explorer is replaced, which i don't want to do ever because it is nearly paid off - so might be SOL. My wife and I owned a pop-up several years ago and I loved it. We have a fully decked out TT now and to be honest sometimes I wished I still had that pop-up...Re: Circut breaker questionWould not be good for it. The TT is rated for 30 amp service. If you want 50 amp usage you would need to change out the 30amp box for a 50 amp box and do some rewiring. Her solution to avoid that is to plug in the new AC directly to the power stand outside on a seperate circuit. Most power poles have a 30 amp, 50 amp and also a 15 amp service there on the pole.Re: Too far off level?Your good. That is not bad enough to mess with the fridge...Re: Upgrading to electric stabilizer jacks harley4275 wrote: Stay with manual...drill with socket is less headaches... X2 Totally agree!!!Re: Modifying an RV toilet to fit your RVSurprised it don't fit. I have had 3 travel trailers in the last 10 years and replaced all of the toilets with the Bravura. Never had a problem.Re: Low height trailerHi-Lo camper or a pop-up, your only choices... Chris
