All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsA/C ProblemI have a Coleman unit made by Airxcel Inc. roof mounted. Last summer I had a couple issues where it would not power up when called for. Moving the stat back to off the back on a couple times and it would power up. Once running, it cools fine. So in my mind, it acts like the relays aren't pulling in, or perhaps capacitors. I contacted Airxcel with the model and serial number and was sent a parts diagram. In that diagram I find the capacitors, which I will replace. But, I don't see relays. I can't believe there isn't a relay that would take the low voltage from the stat and through contacts power the fan and compressor. Any ideas?Re: Replacing awning fabricThanks CD! Looking at mine and the way the fabric slides into the grooves, I believed it could be done without unwinding and dismantling everything. (Like the youtubes show).Replacing awning fabricMy awning fabric ripped on one corner where the windup drum is. Tell me if I'm wrong, but if I pull the awning down, with a helper or two, why couldn't I pull the old awning fabric out of the slots then reverse the process for the new one, instead of unwinding the spring and taking it all apart?Re: A/C Coil CleanerDometic D1227001 Advanced AC Coil Cleaner Found this from another site, since Dometic makes A/C units and is a major supplier for RVs, seems worth a look.Re: A/C Coil CleanerUnderstood about the evaporator and getting water in the ductwork. But I disagree the condenser coil not needing a cleaning. Airborne dirt and pollens flow through these coils as much as an evaporator. And to flush cleaner off runs across the rubber roof, just like condensate water. I've replaced the roof once, not wanting to do it again.A/C Coil CleanerI want to clean the condenser coil on my TT before I take it out in a couple weeks. But what I DON'T want to do is harm the rubber roof when I flush the cleaner off the coil. Is there a specific coil cleaner that is safe for the rubber roof?Re: New Antenna?I can still get channels, but curious if there was a better antenna since mine is 10 years old. And no,mine does not have the Wingman addition. I will get one and install it before my next outing. All connections appear to be OK. Thanks all for the info.New Antenna? My TT is an '05, and it has the typical (for that time) the crank up Weingard rotatable antenna. It has the antenna outlet inside with the booster on/off button. Is there a better, more gain, over the air antenna available now?Rubber Roof TreatmentWell I did a search and read all the posts. It's about 50/50 on whether to treat or not treat. When my TT reached 9 years old, it leaked like crazy, both the caulking and rubber had cracked, leaked, made a huge mess. Had it replaced front to back. The fellow that did the work said had I used the cleaner and treatment once a year, it would have never failed. There was nothing in the Owners Manual when I bought it (new) that said anything about treating the rubber, but obviously I sould have done something. Can't afford to do this again, so what is the best treatment? Seems like cleaning should be straight forward.
