Hardware : Do you remove your satellite and PVR/controller from your house system and install it in the RV, or, do you purchase a second satellite(perhaps smaller) & separate controller for the RV ? What about the channel package ? Does it simply "work" in the U.S. without any additional "roaming" fees, this fee, that fee....? or, do you purchase a package in the U.S. ? I don't have anything to go by other than our iPad which requires a new SIM chip and "plan" for each country we are travelling in. I'd really like to get a system like that up and running...new to RV'ing. Thx !:)Re: Is my Catalytic Heater working properly? Our entire group has used Catalytic Heaters in our RV's and trailers hunting up North in Canada for many, many years without a problem of any kind. The Olympian Wave series even comes with instructions on proper air circulation in RV's for their units.Re: Objective Quality Reports for RVs Homer wrote: .....visit as many RV factories as possible.....I did and absolutely eliminated several brands from my list.... Care to share which companies are on your list ?Re: Canadians in the states about your Shaw account on lineHey fellow Canucks : I'm a total noob when it comes to RV'ing and one of the things I'm starting to look into is how to do the satellite TV thing when we're in the States ? Do you take your Shaw/Bell Satellite with you ? What about the tuner/PVR ? How do you get channels down in the U.S.? Do you buy a package...pay as you go ? or do you get some sort of add on to the CDN Express VU package ? Thanks for your help..again total noobie here.Re: Permit issue at border moisheh wrote: Why were you asking for a Sonora only. In the free zone ( actually no hassle zone) like SC you need a 10 year for your MH but cars or PU's need nothing. Reading you first post yu made one big mistake. At any border do not lie, always the truth ,but NEVER offer information of any kind unless asked. And even then only answer the question briefly. For example: Do you have any meat? Yes I have 2 steaks. Do not answer Yes I have 2 steaks and some fish. Moisheh You are so right ! I've caught myself doing that a couple of times and realized afterward how I left myself wide open for more scrutiny. At any border do not lie, always the truth ,but NEVER offer information of any kind unless asked. And even then only answer the question briefly....worth repeating for sure.Re: Couchs that turn to beds/Class C suggestionsA memory foam mattress topper from Walmart is another solution to pull out couch-beds. You can also get a custom topper if you look up Foam in your local Yellow Pages. We've got a Fleetwood Icon 24A and we both sleep quite comfortably on the pull out couch-bed.
