All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsSlide AdjustmentI found a hairline crack in the gel-coat running at an angle up from the upper front corner of my off door kitchen slide. I have also noticed that there is a "roller mark" in the laminate floor from when the slide is closed. I am assuming that the slide is out of adjustment and that is what caused the mark in the flooring and also the small about 6 or 7 inch crack in the gel-coat. My question is, how complicated is it to adjust a large slide and about what should I expect to pay to get it done. As for the fiberglass repair, I use to have a boat and think I still have those guys on direct dial. I would appreciate a ballpark figure on the slide adjustment. I was thinking about having all three of the slides checked and adjusted as needed at the same time. Thanks in advance.Re: Replacement magazineIf you are looking for easy to understand technical info, check out Escapees RV Club. Their magazine alone IMHO is worth the annual club dues.Heart ProblemsI have a 12 ½ year old female cocker spaniel that was diagnosed with congestive heart failure around November of 2017 and she has been on Vetmedin 5mg, 1 and ½ tablets every day since then. I was told that she would eventually start coughing because of fluid buildup in her lungs and was given Lasix to use "if needed". The coughing started as best I can remember about 8 or 10 months ago and has gotten progressively worse. She is now daily taking Lasix 25mg 2 X day, a Rx cough tablet that I don’t know the name of 3 to 4 times a day and then Enalapril 5mg 2 X day for blood pressure. I honestly cannot tell that any of this medication is helping. One thing I found very strange is that she would at first only cough in the house, but if I put her on a leash and took her for a walk, no coughing, and until recently no one would know she was even sick. She still doesn’t cough much when out walking, but the coughing has gotten worse in the house plus I am starting to find clear fluid on the hard wood and title floors which does not have an odor, so I am pretty sure it is not urine. Sometimes it is just drops but every now and then it is a puddle like urine would be. When she first wakes up, the coughing is a very loud hacking noise and then later it turns into a puffing cough about every second or two and then sometimes will subside to nothing for a while. Sometimes when she lies down, her whole body will jerk or react to the coughing spasms. Sometimes, not too often she will make a whimpering noise while coughing. She seems to be getting enough oxygen, her Vet said that a sign of low oxygen would be a dark tongue and mouth which I haven’t noticed. I know at some point I am going to have to make the decision I don’t want to make. I guess what I need to know is: 1. Are these coughing spasms causing her pain because that is the last thing I want to do. I am sure it has to be stressful. 2. Is there some other medication that I might suggest to her Dr. to try that might give her some relief? 3. Or should I just go on and get it over with? She also has been plagued with dry eye for her entire life, I put Optimmune and GenTeal Severe gel in her eyes for this. Plus she has cherry eye that I use to be able to massage back in place, and it would be ok for several months at a time, but now even the Vet can’t get it to stay in place. The Vet says she can’t operate on the cherry eye because the anesthesia would, because of her heart, kill her. The cherry eye doesn’t seem to bother her. I am guessing that there is someone who has gone through this with their pup and if so, I will greatly value your suggestions. Thank you, George SpeirPet safe RV steps????I just purchased an RV with 4 steps, my old one had 3 steps and I had "Outrigger Step Rugs" on them. I kept the old rugs and planned to order one more and install them on the new RV in order to cover the small round "toe nail catcher" holes in each of the four steps. Great idea, except when I put the rugs on with the springs, I can not fold up the steps. Doesn't work with cable ties either. Are there any kind of adhesive backed step covers on the market? Doesn't have to be carpet, just some thing to cover the holes on the steps and that would not fly off going down the road. Will appreciate any suggestions.Possible anal sac removalMy 8 year old cocker spaniel seems to have chronic problems with her anal sacs plugging up and yesterday in the Vet's office, surgical removal of them was suggested as a possible option. I have been lucky and not had the pleasure, but I have been told that hemorrhoid surgery in a human is terrible and I sort of associate that with what they are suggesting for Dolly. Not sure I want to put her through a painful operation. Has anyone had this surgery performed on their dog, and if so would you do it again to another dog if necessary? I would like to learn all the pros and cons of having this done. Thanks, GeorgeRe: Twist on Waste Valve Question B.O. Plenty wrote: Mine has been in place for 5 years and thousands of miles. If you are not comfortable with it staying there put it on with some abs/pvc adhesive or even a wrap of Gorilla tape. No reason to ever take it off. I have mine set so it pulls open sideways. First thing I will add if I ever buy a new rig. Should be standard equipment. B.O. I am the OP, and based on what everyone has said, and the fact I don't really want to lay in gravel that has been covered with black water, etc, to attach an extra strap, I think I will take a chance that it will be OK until I get to the next park. I agree with B.O., this valve is now permanent in my current drain system and on all future drain systems. I have also ordered some TST Drain Valve Lube that will be added to the tanks before I leave here on Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed for me. ThanksTwist on Waste Valve QuestionJust purchased a Valterra twist on waste valve as a temp fix for my leaking black tank valve until I can get home. On the way out of the store, the clerk warned not to travel with it on the drain pipe because the weight of it might cause excessive vibration that could cause the sewer drain pipe to break loose from the black tank. Seems like that defeats the purpose of purchasing it. Anyone out there have experience pro or con with this product?Re: Blue Beacon Truck Wash - Procedural QuestionI have a friend whose side rear window on his Landmark 5th wheel was blown out by a high pressure hose at a Blue Beacon in the Dallas area. Not sure if they ever reimbursed him for it. I know for awhile he couldn't get any $ help from them. FWIW, he still uses Blue Beacon, but tells them to stay away from his windows.Looking for Colorado RV ParksI use to use RV Park Reviews to find parks in areas I was not familiar with, but they have changed. My guess is they are now charging the individual parks to be on their site. They will show that there is 5 parks in a town, but only list and give info on one. It used to be a good tool, but not worth a **** now. Is there another web site out there like the old RV Park Reviews? I am looking for parks along the Colorado Trail that can accommodate a 38' 5th wheel. Any suggestions will be appreciated.Diesel TahoeIn years past, you could get Tahoes and Suburbans with diesel engines. Does anyone know, are they still available?
