Sounds like you are one of those people that are trying to steal my identity. Your post is exactly how you people get innocent unsuspecting people to give strangers personal info. You start with something simple...then get into it deeper and deeper. Then you rob us blind. We're on to you. Vulcaneer It is people like you that prompted me to start this thread. If I was trying to steal from you, I would hide behind the keyboard like you do. I am real, not hiding from anyone and easy to find. Your comment is bordering on being slanderous. Making such comments about someone that you do not know is a good indicator of your level of intelligence.anonymous postersWhy do many of you not tell your name in your profile? The guy on the bridge may not have been a moron, but a bully with a chip, looking for a fight. The "boys" could be following closely in his footsteps. These type people are not to be approached. You will get hurt or have to hurt them. Either way you are likely to end up in court or worse. My opinions come from fifty years of experience. I have walked/driven away from similiar situations several times.Re: IFS vs solid front axelGjac I am sorry that I kinda hijacked your thread. The only thing I can add is that any well designed suspension should last 100k miles with zero replacement parts. (shocks may not go that far, but quality ones can). Do a little homework on whatever coach you choose and if no problems appear, go for it.Re: IFS vs solid front axel mike brez wrote: How and why would anyone compare the ride of a car or SUV to a rv I will never know. Not even a close comparison. Mike Go back and read the second posts by Wolfe10. I was just confirming what he said. In theory, the car with IFS should have the advantage over the Cherokee. It doesn't. They are not that far apart in weight (approx. 2500 versus 3300. As to comparing to an RV, that is just my way of saying that no RV built with what is basically heavy truck parts, and the driver and passenger positioned ahead of the front axle, will ever ride as well as any small passenger vehicle (motorcycles excepted). People that do not care for the harsh and bouncy ride of an RV should travel by automobile and stay in motels. Now I expect several will tell me how comfy your RV rides with brand X shocks and various addons.Re: IFS vs solid front axelMy Jeep Cherokee (beam axles front and rear) rides better than my Datsun 260Z with four wheel independant suspension. Both ride much, much, better than the Wanderlodge (beam axles).Re: Using Clamp-On Multimeter to Check a/c Surge CurrentGot my Fluke 187 owners manual out. It has a Min and Max mode. Will capture peaks to 250 microseconds. The specs on my 25+ year old 15k AC's says starting current is 19 amps. I would think that more modern units would require fewer starting amps.Re: Using a modified sine wave inverter on a Frigidaire?Harold1946, Why don't you buy a quality VOM, infrared therometer, a MSW and a PSW inverter and run the test? Prove that a MSW inverter is just as good and efficient(or better and more efficient) as a PSW inverter. Report back to us when you are finished with the test.Re: Diesel conversion ScottG wrote: I've never seen a 4 speed auto that wasn't an OD. Sounds like you need to change the gearing to a more conventional 3.73 or 4.1. The older heavy and medium duty Allison's (HT 740 and MT 654) were not overdrive. I have the MT 654. It is a five speed. The torque converter locks about half-way through second and stays locked in third, fourth, and fifth. Nothing like your average car trans.Re: Pad under jacks hammer21661 wrote: I usually use a 6x8 about 14 to 18" long if I am worried about sinking I place it on a pair of 2x8s or 3x 8s about 14 to 18" inches long. I lay them down next to one another and cross with the 6x8. They will not sink unless you are camping in a marsh. If height isn't an issue I would probably use an 18" 3x10 under each pad two with a cross piece the same dimention if I was worried with your rig. The out rigger pads are pretty expensive aren't they? I also Use a short boat hook about 3 or 4 foot,it works wonders for reaching things. I think the above is the only solution, other than steel, that will work with a heavy 45 foot mh on a soft surface. I carry some scraps of half inch thick steel plate. It is heavy, but I already had it, so that is what I used.
