My frig has been freezing all my food solid and no matter how low I set the thermistor it still did. I finally did a search and bingo...there was my answer. Sure enough the wire had fallen out of the thermistor and the frig was reading it needed to be colder. I put the wire back were it belongs and I am now hoping that took care of the problem!! Thank you all for taking the time to answer questions!! CherryRe: Surge Protectors. Do You Use One?I have one and it has saved my bacon 2 times in 2 yr! I wouldn't be w/out it. CherryRe: Long term stay questions.I drink the city water no problem. It is not any different then if you go to a restaurant and drink water with your meal. I have a surge protector and it has saved all my appliances 2 times in 2 yr. now. Glad I had it! I do keep a little water in my fresh tank in case of when they turn the water off to work on the water system. Doesn't happen often but when it does I am glad all I have to do is turn on the pump and flush. lol CherryRe: RV Frig QuestionI have been in my 5th wheel full time since November 20123 and I have yet defrosted my fridge or freezer. There is hardly any build up in them at all. What is on the back of the freezer is just a very thin layer of ice crystals. Nothing on the fins in the fridge at all. So I have not defrosted yet. :) CherryRe: Insurance...Need Assistance...ResolvedI have progressive and they cover my 1 ton ram and my RV. I have had 2 claims for the RV and they have been great to work with. CherryRe: Question about camping in the winterI am full timing in my 5th wheel in north east TX. It gets down to the 20's at night. I set my furnace on 60 at night just to come on to keep the belly warmish. I have a water hose with heat tape and wrapped in insulation. It has yet to freeze up. I have not had any pipes freeze. I keep the electric fireplace on and a small electric heater on at night. When I get up in the AM I turn up the heat to finish taking the chill off. I keep using the little heater and fireplace during the day. It stays plenty warm in here doing that. I have an electric blanket which I have used a couple of times. I stay plenty warm in my 5th wheel doing all of this. I would think if you are going to spend a week at Nashville and you put heat tape and that black hose insulation from Home Depot on it as well as having a small electric heater you will be just fine. CherryRe: Need Some Advice On Cast Iron ProblemI agree with the don't throw it away crowd. If you want to get rid of it let me know. I will pay you the postage to get it to me. I can't hardly cook w/out my cast iron.! CherryRe: Need new GPS looking at RV GPS what do you likeI have the Rand McNally 7710 also. I am pleased with it and I use it even when not pulling the 5er. At least my GPS keeps working even when I do not have phone service. CherryRe: Large dog issues or problems? My son has a 220# mastiff that he takes with him in my 5er. So far he has never had any problem finding a place to stay with him. CherryRe: Why is itAs soon as my 5er gets out of the shop from having some warranty work done, it is going to a camp ground and I will be spending the winter here in TX. Right now I am living with my son and daughter in law as my son has been using my 5er. Glad I can at least use it in the winter. lol Cherry
