On a side note I have a 60 gal compressor with many hoses, fittings etc...and a yard to do it so I know what I'm missing or not missing. I even have a scuba tank with a reworked regulator for portable air.Re: F250 and lance 1050s4500lbs isn't bad for that camper. My non slide short bed Lance 820 was 4000lbs loaded. I had that on a 01 f250 02 f350 08 f350 for years. I now have a 2012 Lance shortbed 855S slide out on a 2011 F350 and it weights less due to aluminum frame, etc. I only need Timbrens as it handles so good. I'm amazed. Truck and TC together weighed 12,500#. Previously weighed the truck at another scale, 8,400#. Neither of these weights were "scientific", as in pulling everything out and ensuring that only the truck, then truck and camper were weighed, but each of them is +/- 100#. So, I can confidently say that my new Lance 1050S weighs ~4,000# wet, leaving me with an additional 1,500# of capacity. The TC has all of the options, A/C (Coleman 11), two batteries, solar, furnace upgrade, microwave, generator, awnings, etc. This weight also includes the hitch extension and air bags, so it is representative of "going camping". I picked up my Lance 1050S in Phoenix also. Weight with pots, pans, linens, tools, clothes, food, miscellaneous, two batteries, water tank full, LPG full - my 2011 1050S came to 4540 lbs. ElmerKTM - BTW - from what dealer did you buy your Lance? Re: non slide camperThe Lance 855 is great but it doesn't have the head room like on their older 820's,etc. So beware of that if your tall. I'm 6'2 and bump my head in them. Mostly when you moving about.Re: 2013 Lance Right Turn SignalThe wires under the camper behind the bumper is probably the issue. And bulbs as well. I had issues with mine on both accounts after a year. Connections and grounds. Bad spot for them. Cheap wireing etc. The backup lamp has to be grounded to the frame. Best to start looking for volts there. The camper is 2013 but probably made in 2012 so it's a couple of years old. Enough to give him issues.Re: Who has a camper with a slide on single wheel truckWell I have my 855S Lance on a 2011 F350 6.7 Crew Cab SRW with no add on's except Timbrens..It carries it fine. Doesn't sway or whatever. Much better then my 01 02 F350 with airbags,rancho's.. Ford did majoy upgrades in 08 that made the difference. My tires are stock ContiTR's and they have been so good I am on my 3rd set. I've hit some bad potholes with the rig on and they've held.Re: Warranty work refusedI don't have any experience running a auto or rv service center but I am a business man that sells service and a product. I know if a person isn't polite to me and has an attitude of sorts I'll drop him fast even if I have to lose money. I'm the best at what I do and I have others who appreciate me that will fill the gaps. My dad who was in the same business used to say he or she is "one of those" meaning a royal pain in the butt, trouble, mean, etc.Re: 10 years on the Truck Camper Forumnext summer I'll be on the listRe: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today? sirdrakejr wrote: Some time ago someone showed a mod that he made by cutting a hole into his water tank and using a boat fitting to put a cap on. Does anyone know who that was or his reason for doing it? I think it was for filling it without using the outside fitting. Frank Be careful. I wouldn't do it. You don't need to get in there. I did it to my last camper. The oring can leak or the seal around the rim and it did on mine. You can tighten it all you want but eventually it will leak and rot the floor. The tank is flexible and that takes a toll on the seal. You can't use many of the different sealers because of toxic run off. So your limited on sealing. Silicone doesn't stick to the Poly plastic well.( milk jug type these tanks are made of)Leaks when filling it up full and when traveling with the side to side motions.Re: The new and improved Truck Camper Enthusiasts MapPut us on the map as well.
