Must be able to fit a four seat RZR- other than that we are open to anything. We are looking for something as good or better than the Grand Design... Appreciate your suggestions!Re: Fuel tank size.Changed my stock tank out for a 65 gallon under bed tank. My light comes on with 10 gallons in reserve. The stock tanks are just way too small... especially if you live in the country or when towing.Re: How long do you keep your Toy Haulers?1st- 1 year (2003 21 foot WW bumper pull) 2nd- 3 years (2005 35 foot WW fifth) 3rd- 10 years (2009 43 foot WW fifth) 4th- Rent a pusher, VRBO a house, hotel... and put the toys on one of the flatbeds whenever we want to go somewhere. Not sure I will ever buy another TH let alone an RV. Nice to have all your own stuff in the RV but its really nice to have it just picked up when you get home or stay in a hotel. Maybe when our last leaves the house in 8 years (which is when I will retire) but until then I love the flexibility and ease of just renting... Not more washing, upkeep etc... Loved owning but now I love not owning!Re: onan 5500 running ACAlways have the generator cover on when running- you can open the bay doors to the generator compartment if you want. If it is really hot then I often open those doors to where the generator sits just so the fiberglass doesn't get too hot. In hot weather with a couple a/c's going I generally run through 3/4 to a gallon of fuel an hour.Re: 28 footer is a single A/C enough for hot summers? For sure two a/c's- no question! Just a thought but maybe a used unit makes sense? You can get a lot of trailer for 35k used! We are thinking maybe a bumper pull next but who knows... Just ready for something different and smaller... Hoping I have the fifth wheel sold this weekend... :)Re: 2017 GMC/Chevy DEF tank!Haven't had an issue with my 2012 or the 2016 with the def tank location- I agree it's not the most aesthetically pleasing but the AMP steps and the aftermarket guard I have completely hide it. I have 34k miles on my 10 month old 2016 and am getting at least 5k miles between def fill ups- which is what I got with the 2012. Most of those miles are towing. (I grabbed 10,000 #'s of steel pipe for the ranch this morning which was a 600 mile round trip...) I agree it could be done better but it certainly won't hold me back from buying another GM truck... If it's a deal breaker for someone then they likely didn't want a GM truck to begin with...Re: WOW, how warm does a F 250 6.7 block heater get?I just park in the garage- its insulated and has heat. My truck always just starts right up and is warm. :)Re: 2017 Duramax Dyno NumbersIt would be nice to see the magazines put all three trucks on a dyno and then go up the big hill! My only thought is that the GM truck has always faired pretty well in the tests over the last three years- all while rated much lower in the HP/torque categories. So GM must have significantly less drive line loss or is very conservative in rating the trucks numbers- or both.Re: '13 Ram 2500 - how much lift and pull 5th wheel? Can't find one with the fifth wheel but here are a couple pics with some steel I hauled back from Oklahoma for the roping arena- as you can see the trailer rides flat. The trailer had 25k pounds of steel on it but then lifted trucks can't do any real work... Click For Full-Size Image. Click For Full-Size Image. Tows our 45 foot fifth wheel no problem. Do you have a picture of your setup hooked up and mods done to trailer and/or hitch to accomplish a level tow? The only thing I ever did was adjust the trailer pin- two trucks before the current one. The trailer rides maybe a little higher than most because of the length. They did this from the factory... I assume to help you keep from rubbing when entering/departing driveways... Trailer rides flat- I have maybe 20k miles of towing this trailer with the current and or earlier trucks that have all had lifts. 2008, 2011, 2016 all GM trucks riding on 35" tires. I will look for a picture hooked up.
