Most of them relevant to the Girards as that's what Jayco picked. I'd venture a guess it's 80/20 or 70/30 against Girard tankless. We replaced the Girard tankless in our Greyhawk with a Suburban 6-gallon model. Jayco covered the swap as a warranty item for which we are very appreciative.Re: 30 and 31 ft. C'sOur Jayco Greyhawk class C is 32' and we do have to watch the loads. Went across a CAT scale with myself and wife. RV was fully loaded for a long trip including a full pantry, fridge, and freshwater, propane and gasoline tanks. Front axle was 60 lbs. under max allowable and rear was 440 lbs. under. Have not had any problems with the E450 being underpowered even going through the NC mountains fully loaded. Do not pull a car though. We cruise at 62-63 mph and average 8-9 mpg.Re: Onan generator doesn't workThe Jayco 2-year warranty does not transfer to a second owner, but the Cummins/Onan warranty does. This does sound like a battery issue, but if something else is involved, you are covered by the Cummins/Onan warranty completely for 2 years and a limited warranty for the third. https://power.cummins.com/sites/default/files/PGBU-Warranty-Statement.pdf#page110 There are Cummins repair shops across the U.S. Had to take ours to the one in Kenly, NC for a fuel pump replacement under warranty. Good luck.Re: Generator runs 30 minutes, shuts offThis began happening to our 4KW Onan generator in our class C. Oil was not due for a change, was running the recommended Onan brand multi-weight oil, oil level full and gas tank almost full. It would cut off after thirty minutes. Would restart, but run only a minute before shutting down. Had to let it cool completely before using it again. Took it to Cummins/Onan service center in Kenly, NC. They replaced the fuel pump and it's been fine since.Re: Craziness at the gas pumpStopped for gas with the class C on I-95 in May. As with the OP, it was a gas station with a fast joint on one end and the place was packed. Pulled in behind a pickup with no one there, but figured the driver was paying inside. A young (maybe 19-20 year old) male sauntered out to the pickup. While he pumped, I stepped into our bathroom. As I plopped back into the driver's seat, I saw him sauntering (that seemed to be his only speed) towards the fast food entrance. After about ten more minutes, I was able to back out and get into the next pump aisle. About five minutes after I started filling the RV, he ambled (even slower than a saunter) across the parking lot carrying a drink and a bag of food. I could not believe it. I stepped in front of the RV and very loudly called out, "You saw me waiting behind you, BUT YOU WENT TO GET (expletive deleted) LUNCH?!?" I thought that was the height of rudeness until I read the OP's post.Re: Do you sleep in your rig at home?We did last summer when the house A/C died.. Spent five nights in it. Fortunately our parking pad has full hook-ups.Re: Anastasia state park and St AugustineThe Park Service employee who did the historical lecture in the fort was great. If you can catch him, do so. I used the word "lecture" reluctantly. He was dressed in period costume with weapons and gave an excellent presentation of life as a Spanish soldier. Even the teenagers were paying attention. :)Re: Why do RV dealers take forever to fix thingsHaving owned two boats and still owning a motorcycle, I know that those repair shops are also swamped in the springtime. I make every effort to avoid springtime work on my Honda and Greyhawk. However, we do get very good turnaround from our dealer when we need something quickly to make a planned trip. When we were weighing buying the Greyhawk from the Jayco dealer 20 minutes from home or the high volume RV One folks 650 miles away, we chose to pay a bit more and buy locally. They said we'd get priority in the service department and they have certainly done so.Re: V10 gas mileageOur 32-foot Jayco Greyhawk class C has the V-10. We average 8.5 mpg while cruising about 61-62 mph. It has 11,000 miles on it.Re: Big Foot vs Level UpOur Greyhawk came with factory installed BF levelers. In our two years the only problem we've had was a false alarm that one of the levelers was not completely retracted. Fixed that easily myself by adjusting the limit switch. Having the levelers certainly makes setup much easier that using blocks.
