I print mine out every year to enjoy at a later date. This is my plan. Do you simply print your blog out, or do you use a specific website/program/company to do it?Re: Our Family Blog and Facebook Page DiskDoctr wrote: It's a wonderful thing to do and share. I'd suggest you delay your posts by about 2 weeks so it is not a "live" account of when you will and will not be home (Ex. "We are going to spend the day at the beach Thursday, come rob us") Not trying to be cynical. You can definitely do what you want and still be safe ;) This is exactly what I do! :) I don't post about things we have done until we have done them...and I am about 2 weeks 'behind' in the blog than in our real life. Our Family Blog and Facebook PageHi there! I hope it's okay to share our family's blog on here. I was looking for a specific blog sharing area, but didn't find one. We are a full-time RVing family. My husband and I have been married 11 years in September. We have 2 boys, ages 5 and 9. We left our sticks and bricks home on June 21st (renting it out, didn't sell it). We are in Florida for an undetermined amount of time because we have lots of family that live here, and we are enjoying being around them. (We weren't around family in Ohio). YES, it's hot here in Florida, but we are surviving with our 2 air conditioners. I homeschool our boys (we are on summer break!), and my husband works out of our closet in the master bedroom...we had a desk installed in the closet. Our blog is: Roadhouse 4 Us Our Facebook page is: Roadhouse 4 Us Come join our blog and 'Like' our FB page! And please list below if you have a blog or FB page that you would like to share. I love following other people's journeys!Re: Full Timing with a Family loulou57 wrote: Pinikki36 wrote: We are a fulltiming family with 2 boys, ages 5 and 9. You can check out our blog at: Roadhouse 4 Us Love the interior of this unit. Kt has lots of room. Do the 2 couches make into a large lounger/bed? The couch in the living room reclines out all the way...not into a bed, but I guess one could sleep there if need be. The couch in the bunkhouse does pull out into a bed. The dinette table makes a bed too. Instead of a couch in the bunkhouse, you could opt for another bunk bed. What sold us on this unit is the full-size refrigerator, the bathtub/shower, king-size master bed, the pantry, and the bunkhouse. I knew it was going to be VERY important that my boys have their own separate space with a DOOR!Re: Chronic ConditionOP: I think this is a great question. It's one that we had also before we started full-timing. Our 9-year-old son is basically allergic to life. His allergens are: Trees, Grass, Weeds, Mold, Dust, Cats, Dogs, Peanuts, and Tree Nuts He has allergy-induced asthma. Carries epi-pens at all times. He takes 2 tsp of Allegra in the morning and 2 tsp of Zrytec at night. Our sticks and bricks home is in Ohio, and the winter-time was the only time he could go off his meds due to the freezing weather. We have his mattress and pillow encased in special covers. He takes a shower every day to get rid of pollens. I try and not clean with him in the same room. We don't have pets. We don't smoke. Traveling and living in an RV worried me mostly because of constantly having to relearn which foods are safe for him. Going to a new grocery store takes more time anyway, but then having to read the ingredient list on each and every food is time consuming (BUT not negotiable). Dining out at restaurants requires phone calls to the managers in advance, checking restaurant website, speaking in person to managers, etc. There's no such thing as spontaneity. BUT...we do it all. We don't want him to allow his allergies to stop him from doing what he wants to do. We just makes things as safe as we possibly can for him. I was more worried about clogging things, damaging things, or causing chemical reactions that I'm not aware of in a black water tank (which is a bit different from a sticks and bricks home toilet system). The bleach I bought is a 'green' bleach meaning it's chlorine-free so I used it, and all is good.Settle a debate regarding sewer hose/smellWe're newbies. Just became full-timers in June. It stinks in here! We (meaning my husband) has emptied the black water tank, but it still stinks in here (like someone just went to the bathroom). We used Kronen product in our black water tank. That seems to do nothing for the smell. We used Thetfold (what our 5th wheel came with), and that does nothing for the smell. Do you keep your sewer hose always attached to your rig when you are parked? We're stationed in one spot for 1 month. Should we take the sewer hose off after dumping? Any guesses on how to get rid of nasty smell? TIA!What do you use to clean toilet bowl?Bought bleach, but now I'm second guessing that decision thinking maybe I shouldn't put bleach in the black water tank. What is a safe cleaning product?Re: Stopping OvernightWe just became full-timers last week. We 'boondocked' for the first time on Saturday night at a Love's gas station. We asked if we were allowed to park there overnight first and were told that "yes, you can, just park in a truck spot". And we actually liked to sleep to the hum of all the trucks. Our 5th wheel is 41' and we have an extended bed dually truck....we're just about the same length as a truck. Whether it's a truck driver or RV driver, a sleepy driver needs to get off the road. Thankfully, Love's believes the same thing. We may be full-timers, but my husband still works full-time so we are on a time restraint while traveling as well.
