Also, are the heat vents covered when the slides are in or can you get the rig warm with the slides in?Re: Travel Trailer RoofI agree with the above two posts-covering all of the seams with Eternabond is the way to go! Also-I have seen 20 year old trailers that the roof is in great shape because it wasn't scrubbed a ton and accumulated a layer of 'grime' that seemed to act like an additional layer of protection against the sun and some other forces.Re: E350 RV turn signalsYear is important...do you have 4-ways? Brake lights?Re: 2017 Super Duty is *****I'm still towing with my 7.3 but I've got a 2017 6.7 4x4 CC 6.5 as my daily that I literally beat on-18k in the last 3 months and no complaints...the sound thing took some getting used to but no one can tell if I'm in the truck or home when on the blue-tooth now...and I had a lot of trouble getting used to the position of the wheel buttons(I've been driving first gen Supers since 99.5)Re: What is the spring perch the idea is to jack from directly under the point where the weight is sitting on top of the axle...Re: I think I made a mistake.I will offer that I've driven a 38' diesel pusher hauling a medium sized toad 4 down and hauled my 40' fiver all over the place...the motorhome is probably more comfortable to drive-but maybe only slightly...the truck way more maneuverable with the trailer in tight spots than that coach you can't backup. The 100 gallon aux tank in the bed solves all fueling issues with the truck and I wont even consider venturing in to a regular fuel stop with the coach towing the toad. I think it may be just that you need to adapt your ways a bit-plan stops at truck stops and rest areas...pack to eat what you want when you want it...and enjoy the heck out of your fiver at the campground and having a full size vehicle to tour around with!Re: Would you do this? With the right setup-you're not going to haul your trailer with a more capable SUV...I'm about to install my second set of Superduty springs on my X-I rolled past the 300K mark a while ago and it's time...anyhow, I run F350 'B' code springs on the rear and 'V' codes up front. I have an aftermarket Curt hitch installed as well since my hitch rusted out long ago. Front and rear stabilizer bars keep things taught. I highly recommend inspecting all of your suspension components as well as your hitch-both of which, if are original, may be in line for upgrade. Not trying to worry you-but I will tell you that with proper maintenance you will not find an SUV that will haul your trailer the way that the X will...as far as the V10 goes and the gearing, I can't tell you much-but an old V10 Excursion is definitely a hefty and economical(to purchase) 1 ton that will tow a heavy travel trailer nicely.Re: Any common sense logic on how the pins/clips face.Once upon a time I had hour lockable pins...worked out great until I cut them all off because I couldn't find the key! Anyhow-I'm a fan of putting the clips under the hitch so that whatever is bouncing around in front of or behind the hitch runs no risk of popping one of the clips off of the pin...
