Re: Where to camp to take in Bay of Fundy and Halifax NSNot negative..but just surprised ! ..even shocked ? Cape Breton is big into tourism and the bell museum is a huge draw. We tend not to tour our province every year ..we spend a lot of time in other provinces.. so it has been few years since we have been up there ..so I checked..I cannot find any info on it being shut down.. Perhaps it was being renovated ? With so many excellent distilleries operating in this province (plus wineries/craft beer and cider), it may be time to do another loop.Re: Where to camp to take in Bay of Fundy and Halifax NSI really don't know where you are getting your info... https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g499213-d183419-Reviews-Alexander_Graham_Bell_National_Historic_Site-Baddeck_Cape_Breton_Island_Nova_Scoti.htmlRe: Where to camp to take in Bay of Fundy and Halifax NSI guess you have to define what the Cabot trail is. All our scenic routes are names something or other. For instance, on top of the Cabot trail, we have (not a complete list): Ceilidh Trail Bras d'Or Lakes Scenic Drive Digby Neck and Islands Evangeline Trail Fleur-de-Lis Trail Glooscap Trail Lighthouse Route Marconi Trail Marine Drive Sunrise Trail. But you are looking for what everyone talks about ? That would be what is in the nation park.. I attached an image. Absolutely breathtaking scenery..especially when the colours begin to change.. The speed is really up to you. The last time I did it I stopped to each and do a few shops..I also followed off the trail to find several waterfalls. I parked myself at the end and then did the loop in a day.Re: Where to camp to take in Bay of Fundy and Halifax NSYou can drive the trail comfortably (and stop to sight see) in less than a day.. I wouldn't tow a rig around there..there are some steep hills :) YZ..Re: Where to camp to take in Bay of Fundy and Halifax NShttp://www.novascotia.com/travel-guideRe: Where to camp to take in Bay of Fundy and Halifax NS Islandman wrote: Have heard tales about the black flies and mosquitoes in NL and NS; are they really bad or just a general nuisance that putting some reppellant on your arms and face will generally solve the problem? We're heading there this summer and don't want to have to wear netting around my face like a beekeeper, etc. Have screens for the RV and netting for the door windows when we have them open. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks! I am assuming this is a serious question. If you are planning on camping in the middle of the woods by a swamp..yes, I would expect you to use a lot of bug screen :) but it really depends.. we were in Maryland a bunch of years back and there were bugs outside.. Just as a general rule, when it gets dark and there is no wind, the little critters come out. Spring is probably the worse time of year. Camping close to the water away from trees is good.. Our fav place in PEI has two sections..one is really dense conifer trees ...the other is flat field that usually has a breeze..we do notice some mosquitoes around them.. Bring or buy repellent before you come..financially speaking, this year will be a very good year to travel in Canada. ..and do currency conversion at a bank or before you come..you nwon't get the same exchange is you pay with US bucks..Re: Walk around while Class C in motion?Interesting that you mentioned Greyhounds.. this is rather timely.. The driver, I gather, has 26 years experience piloting these rigs.. http://bc.ctvnews.ca/8-passengers-and-driver-injured-in-greyhound-bus-crash-1.2737474 That is the bugger about accidents.. they come when they are unexpected..Re: Smaller fifth wheels no longer made??With the power of diesels today...a 28 5th...which was the first 5th we looks at..pulls no different from the 31.5 than we bought. As for the manufacturer the cost of building those 2 is essentially identical and it is easier selling the 31 at that price point.. Companies know how they can make profit to survive...those that don't, die... if there was a demand, they would build.. The sweet spot for 5th is like the OP said..31 to 34 foot.. Those that want a small 5th, have to search in the nitch market and pay more that the bigger rigs.. or have a small one custom built and pay the piper.. It really dempends on how much the OP wants a small 5th..Re: Walk around while Class C in motion? There has been some disastrous multi death incidents... may not be greyhound but like type of bus.. I think the OP said it best..justify it anyway you want but you have to live with the consequences.. no one ever thinks they are going to be in an accident...but don't every believe that just because you can walk around in a moving vehicle, that it is safe... So if you are comfortable with it, go for it.. My tv is large enough that you can move in it or sleep in the bed in the back while it is in motion...For my family, it is never going to happen while it is in motion.....
