'Have always done my own winterizing, and have read a thousand lists, made my own, and watched videos, but never seen anyone address the black and gray tanks.Winterizing black and gray tanksHi Folks. 'Been RVing for a dozen years in the freezing north, and never really worried about this, or seen anything written or found searching. Do you think the black and gray should be completely drained, or tank chemicals in as usual (plus whatever antifreeze gets in there from adding to P-traps)? Do you think it's good for the O-rings to dry out over winter if empty? I have done both. Have not had ever the outlet pipes freeze or break, but have had them start leaking, and replacing them was not a fun job. Would rather not have to do that again. Any advice appreciated. Thnx. -Luther 2017 Flagstaff Microlite 2009 Cherokee 5erBacking up a steep driveway in 4WD Low gear?Hi folks. I'm looking for advice on whether I can, or should, use 4WD low gear to back up my 25 ft. Microlite (7k lbs.) in low gear with my 2017 Chev 1500 5.3L. The standard reverse gear seems kind of high, and I've gotta back up a pretty steep drive, concrete, with a 90 degree turn on the drivers side onto the driveway and a 90 degree turn to the passenger side on the top after it flattens out. I'd like to take it slow, but don't want to put bad stress on the drive train either. THanks for any help. -LutherRe: My solution to Sleep Number mattresses bursting...Thanks Jeff. I just ordered a Sleep Number for the 5W and was looking for info on installing it. Not sure if it comes with side boards or anything tricky. Interesting info on the over inflation. While I don't anticipate big altitude changes in the near future, I would expect big temp changes while in storage in the sun when the camper is all closed up. Do you always deflate while in storage? What about when gone for the day and need to keep windows closed for inclement weather?Re: Propane safetyMy brother blew up his cabin last Summer from LP leak coming from a small corrosion hole in the flexible pipe connecting kitchen stove. When he lit the top burner on the stove for the first time of the season, it blew him across the cabin and the ensuing fire destroyed the cabin and burnt him pretty bad. The issue with propane is that it is heavier than the air, so it goes down and you don't smell it, where as natural gas goes up and you know it's there by the smell. Alarms should be positioned near floor, and kept clean and working. I've got new respect when dealing with any LP.
