With battery disconnected, I had exactly 13.6V coming out of the Progressive Dynamic converter, (per my fluke tester). My interstate battery tested at 13.4V Guess I must have a short somewhere...Re: Lights dimming and brightening in 5V time2roll wrote: Check the 12v system voltage with a meter. 13.6 volts? Check the battery for excessive gassing and heat. Also check the water level. Then disconnect the battery as the PD converter should run the RV just fine with no battery. What is the voltage now in the fuse panel? Thanks for the tips, I plan to troubleshoot it tomorrow morning.Lights dimming and brightening in 5VMy 2010 Blue Ridge has an issue with the 12V lights. While sitting inside RV, lights will suddenly get a lot brighter. Dimming of the lights is more subtil, seems the dimming of the light is very gradual. Due to hurricane Harvey, we have been living in this RV full time for the last couple of months. Previously, the trailer was parked at the lake, with intermittent use. DW & I cannot recall this being a long term issue. We bought this trailer new. I had installed a new Progressive Industries converter & a new interstate battery a couple of years ago. I am beginning to be concerned that we may have a short somewhere. Thanks in advance for you help!Re: Trip Mapping LIKE2BUILD wrote: rving4us wrote: Now that Microsoft streets and trips are no longer, has anyone found a suitable mapping software to take its place. I know maps are still the best, just looking for software to plan out the trip first. Thanks You're a Good Sam Member, why not use the Trip Planner on the member web site? I did for our trip out west and it worked very well. I don't have a Good Sam compatible GPS so I couldn't use the navigation feature, but I did use to find campgrounds, mileage, etc. KJ X2 on using GS's trip planner. I found that it was definitely worth the time it took to learn the program.Re: LT265 x 75 R16 tires recommendation. travelnutz wrote: For me, Michelin, Michelin, Michelin LTX MS2 265/75/16-E. Mine have never cracked on the side walls etc. Very long wearing, excellent traction, and never a blowout yet in over 24 years of heavy truck camper and 5th wheel hauling. It's all I will have on any of our 2500 or 3500 trucks and the trucks for my business. Do NOT use tire shine etc coatings on your tires as it dries the rubber out and promotes premature cracking. X2 on the Michelin LTX MS2 tires. I have the 265-75R/16-E on my 2500 D/A. Very great tires, but costly. Had excellent results with these tires. FS Transforce is good tire also, I just have had better luck overall with the Michelins.Re: Towbar/tab failureMy first thought is that this would probably never had happened if this part had been machined out of solid bar stock. Off course, it requires much longer time (hence more money) to fabricate parts from solid stock.Re: Who installed your hitch?I know this doesn't fit with what OP was asking, however as an added bit of info, I have a different take on using the rails vs the smooth bed for hitching. I wouldn't have anything but the rails, (quite contrary to what most people on forum like). Yes, rails do clutter up the bottom of the bed somewhat, but, boy are they great for tie down points when using ratchet straps to secure material to bed!Re: advice on roof maintenanceI parked my 33ft B-Ridge 5v on my driveway, positioned my rolling scaffold on one side, then used a razor scraper to gently remove the heavy application of dicor directly over each roof screw. I was not looking to remove all the old dicor, (old dicor is a good base to apply eternabond tape to). I mainly was looking for a somewhat flat surface to apply the tape to. * I would remove about 7ft of dicor, then clean thoroughly with soap & water * After ensuring that surface was dry, I would then carefully apply a roll of 4'' eternabond tape over the screws * Did the above steps down both sides, then both front & back of RV * I then used the same process above (along with a pencil, compass & some metal shears) to splice several short pieces around each roofing protrusion, (for example, pipes) If done correctly, you will end up with a "roof over a roof" Do yourself a favor & visit eternabond's website to learn more about this amazing product!Re: Blue ridge question batavia02 wrote: Today we were looking at blue ridge specifically the bunk house model we also wanted to get a brochure also this dealership sells sierra 5th wheels they also sell other models the sales person said that the blue ridge is built on the same frame the cardinal is built on and it uses a drop frame question to the experts out there we all know sales person are not always factual is this true about the blue ridge ?
