It's beautiful:)Re: Trailer rentalYears ago I did something similar-With a friend drove my F250 from So. Calif. to Md. Bought a good used enclosed trailer from a Dlr there-with a rear ramp and side entrance door-loaded it up with furniture, etc., pulled it back to So Calif. Unloaded it and sold the trailer-within a week-and actually made money on re-selling it.Re: Route 66Williams, Az. has always been 1 of our favorite spots to visit. Plenty to do there including The Grand Canyon Railway train ride.Re: Is there any REAL quality out there? If you look at 5-10 years old lightly used-should be able to find some good quality vehicles/rv's. And the bonus is- the majority of wrinkles should be ironed out.Re: Recommended tools for a newbieSomething I hadn't seen mentioned is a tray of different amp fuses and needle nose pliers to get them in and out. Jumper cables, and electric tire air pump, a battery charger and at least 2 water pressure regulators, an tv antenna extension cable that goes from Rv. to campground site electric hook up, tv antenna hook up. A windshield/side window cover/sunshade to keep prying eyes/sun out. Good Luck and have fun.Re: Weird sounds at nightYou should get a portable air horn and a pellet pistol. We have a cabin in the Mtns. and a Class C. Have used both-mostly the air horn. Animal definitely don't like the air horns noise.Re: Request Structural Change.Northwood MFG. in Oregon makes Arctic Fox, Nash, etc. Should check them out-I know they make a Nash trailer camper with no slides. Also, I like the fact that they make their trailer and camper.Re: Small āCā. Chev or GodzillaWe have a 2017 Forest River Forester 2251 SLE on a Chevy450 chassis with the 6.0 gas engine. Wanted to get the Chevy because of better leg room-particularly on passenger side. Also, read a lot of complaints about heat coming up thru floor or engine house-to a point where it was very uncomfortable with the Ford chassis. Really like the fact that my wife can and will drive it. Also, I can sit straight up in the overhead sleeping area. No complaints.Re: Good Sam or KOAWe have Good Sam and KOA. Seem to use Good Sam quite a bit more. There are more G.S. sponsored campgrounds than KOA-in the U.S of A there are about 2500 G.S. campgrounds. If you are headed to Tucson-about 20 miles S on I#10-to Vail, Az. there is the Pima County Fairgrounds RV Campgrounds. Place is huge.
