Their first impression was that the factory left off the bottom seal. I will let you know about the fix. This is also a Forest River product.Re: TRAVELLING FROM VIRGINIA TO BROWNSVILLE, TXI don't know your plan or if you have traveled coming to TX from VA in November. I have traveled from eastern KY to Corpus several times. I like the southern route versus a northern colder route due to weather in November which sometimes can be unpredictable. When leaving Corpus we take state Hwy 35 around south Houston, to Bay Town TX, to Beumont TX, to Baton Rouge LA, to Mobile AL, to Chattanoga TN, Knoxville TN, on to eastern KY. Return the same way. Your exact route may vary from mine depending on what you want to see or visit, and where you are leaving from in VA. But you get the idea. This way I bypass the larger cities like Houston and Atlanta. Houston is OK on Sat or Sun, but other than that you might want to avoid. When traveling through TX by the way of Houston, Hwy 59 and 77 are very good hiways. The only reason I take hiway 35 from Corpus, I live about 30 miles north of Corpus right off hiway 35. Going to 77 to 59 is a little out of my way.Re: TRAVELLING FROM VIRGINIA TO BROWNSVILLE, TXIt could depend on what part of November you arrive. Winter Texans start arriving in November. A lot of them already have reservations way ahead of time. I would certainly call ahead a couple of days before arrival and get reservations at least for a couple of nights to insure you have a place to stay. I live near Corpus Christi and RV parks begin to get crowded from November to April. If you are sure about a particular campground, then you should make reservations for a few days prior to when you think you will get there. Paying for a couple of extra days prior to arrival is better than not having a place or having to wait for an opening. Just some things to consider.Re: What is going on with the underbelly of this Jayco?Could be an access hole. But it doesn't look like it was cut clean. It looks more like it had been ripped like something hitting it on the bottom while being pulled down the hiway. Sometimes in order to do a repair like repairing a holding tank, it has to be cut. But it should have been cut and repaired cleanly. I am surprised that the previous owner would leave it this way.Re: Good Smaller - Medium Units to Check Out and AdviceI went from a Newmar motorhome to a TT. I looked at a lot of TT before buying. You will find out that the Newmar quality is much better than most of the TT.Re: Down sizedWe down sized from a 35 foot motorhome to a 29 foot trailer. That was tough to do. I will miss all that outside and inside storage. I will also miss the generator. A lot of advantages of a MH over a trailer. The MH was getting some age and I was not using it enough to justify the transmission and engine repairs and maintenance. But the trailer also has an advantage over the MH in that I can use my P/U after we get to the destination instead of a small car.Re: Do all hitches work with V-shaped TT'sI have Flagstaff V-lite and 12000 Equalizer hitch. It works with no problems. I did not have to move anything. The bar holders fit perfectly. I don't know about Hensley/P3.Re: Skylight pillowsHas anyone tried a tinting film like the one used for car windows?Skylight filmI have a clear skylight and a lot of sun comes in. Has anyone tried a tinting film on the skylight? After market tow mirrorsThose of you that tow with a 2014 F150, what after market tow mirrors that slide over the factory mirror do you use. I was thinking about CIPA or K source. I saw some mirrors at Walmart that clip on and has straps that go around the factory mirror. Or will tow mirrors be needed. The factory driver mirror has a small mirror in the corner that lets me see pretty wide. Would this be OK? If this works, how about a small corner mirror for the passenger side? I am not sure what I need or what is the best after market slide on mirror.
