I wouldn't go back to the trailers or the little MHs for anything. We absolutely love the DP.Re: Any option for re-filling MH Propane Tank from Small Tank? mowermech wrote: Many years ago I worked for the Forest Service burning logging slash piles. We used back-pack propane torches. When the torch bottle was empty, we returned to the pickup and filled the bottle from a 100 pound cylinder in the back of the truck. Liquid transferred from the big cylinder to the little bottle using only the pressure in the big cylinder. Of course, we had to open the "80% valve" on the little bottle to relieve the pressure so it would fill properly. As soon as we got liquid from the "80% valve" we shut off the valve on the big cylinder, shut off the valve on the little bottle, disconnected the hose, connected the torch and went back to lighting fires. This long dissertation is just to illustrate that it IS possible to transfer liquid propane without a pump. Is it "safe"? Probably not. Anytime a flammable gas is vented to the atmosphere it can be dangerous. Good luck. I made up a hose and filled my Class C motorhome tank like this from a full 100# tank. I'd turn the 100#er upside down so I would get liquid out of it. I'd do it on my driveway on a windy day so the vapors would blow away quickly.Re: Carson City, NV Janss wrote: Here are some more reviews: Campground Reviews We've stayed there twice. A bit tight, but definitely satisfied our needs. Reasonably priced. Easy access to the freeway. Thanks for the info. I read a lot of the reviews, and being sort of tight seemed to be the biggest complaint........that and people not picking up after their dogs. I don't have any pets, so that won't be a big issue for me. The tight spots really don't bother me either. I just want a place to park, eat, and sleep. All of my activities will be at the airport.:)Carson City, NVHas anyone one had any experience with Gold Dust West casino campground in Carson City, NV? I'm going out there in April for some flight training.Re: Possibly upgrading from TT to Class A 3 dog nights wrote: my 5ver had 4 slides and 425 sq ft of room. So much storage we didn't use it all. We were 65' bumper to bumper with the truck. Now we are 55' bumper to bumper with the jeep. We have far less storage and find that a 38' MH gives about 35' of living area,We find the cockpit area to be useless, although you can turn the chairs around, it's too much of a pain to fool with. With three slides (one is full body) we have about 325 sq ft of room. Not to mention the learning curve of driving the MH,and the fact that my wife can't ride in the passenger seat. Too nervous riding in the window over the bumper. Just saying, be careful what you wish for. It might be the right move for you but it was certainly regrettable for us. Well, I had a '97 class c motor home. Traded it for a 5er with 4 slides, 1 1/2 bath, blah blah blah. I missed the "little" motor home the FIRST trip out in the 5er. Took WAY too long to get ready to go, WAY too long to set up. Wife & kids couldn't move around while in motion. Had the 5er 5 years, traded it in for a Class A. We'll never go back to a trailer.Re: Connected to shore powerMine's plugged in 24/7, if not plugged in, the genny's running.Re: Diesel Pusher, side vs rear mount radiatorMine is a rear mount on my Bounder. I've never had anything else, and it doesn't seem to bother me...….maybe I just don't know any better.lolRe: I hate dinettesWe're 60 years old, 160ish lbs. When we were shopping for our moho, one of the prerequisites was a booth. We had booths in all of our other RVs and got talked into a table & chairs when we bought a new 5er. We hated the table & chairs for as long as we owned the 5er. Swore we'd never buy another RV without the "booth".Re: Screwing into shower wall?I mounted a couple of things in my shower. I just drilled small pilot holes and screwed the things to the wall. I "felt" the screws actually go into something solid (no, it wasn't wire or pipe either, lol) behind the plastic surround.Re: Texas?!? I'm shocked.I'm proud to be an Okie. OK did away with the state inspection in 1982 IIRC. OHP said they never investigated an accident that the "safety inspection" would have prevented.
