All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Truck Seat RepairThe part of the seat that wore out is called the BOLSTER. I just had my 06 Ram leather bucket seat recovered. Total cost was $425 including new OEM leather cover (seat only) and labor. I removed and delivered the seat to the 2 man shop. My 06 dually Cummins Laramie with only 98,000 miles stickered at $51,000........a new one stickers at $84,000! Investing $425 for a new leather seat cover is a bargain. BY THE WAY, I asked the owner why Dodge Rams have this area wear out, where you slide in and out. He said that area is called the seat BOLSTER. He said ALL trucks (Ford/Dodge/GMC-Chevy) have this area wear out. I said if it is so common, why don't they reinforce this area.........knowing that it will wear out. He said because it is one more reason to buy a new truck! How do you value your RV?Other than NADA, how do you place a value on an RV?Re: Colors of trucks!Guilty! 2006 Ram 4x4 3500, 2013 Chevy Equinox, 1966 Pontiac GTO. All white.Re: Are other drivers killing your RV experience?Yes! We actually cancelled our trip from PA to Myrtle Beach SC because at 65 years old driving around the Baltimore and Washington outer loops scares me stiff. I know what its like just driving my 8,000 dually, they play with me like I'm a toy. Don't they respect size and mass? Pulling a 41' fifth wheel with a dually 4x4 8' bed is Xanax time, I can't stop this train on a dime! I try to maintain safe following distance to give me some room to stop......forget it. Three cars cut in front of me. I guess if I leave at midnight is best, shouldn't be too crazy at 2-4 am?Re: Dualie vs SRW benefits?I've pulled with everything short of a rickshaw. A dually is boss, period. My 2006 Ram 3500 8' bed 4x4 tells my rv where its going, not the rv trying to be the boss. Stability, braking, sway, this is the peace of mind you want. If you know how to drive parking is not an issue. I will admit washing it is a pita! I miss car washes.Re: New truck batteriesI've read through these threads and have seen DEKA, EAST PENN, DURACELL, etc. Please know EAST PENN MANUFACTURING is DEKA BATTERY. I live a few miles away from their plant. They make over 160,000 batteries per day, and employ 4,000 employees. Their sales last year were over 3 billion dollars. They are by far our nations largest battery manufacturer. THEY ARE FAMILY OWNED!!! I am happy to say we locals buy blemished batteries at half cost! I just bought 2 new 1,000 CCA batteries for my 2006 Dodge Ram diesel. Seven years ago I bought new batteries for my truck, they just died 7 years later. I know many people who work there and I hear their stories. A great place to work, a great work ethic. When the occasional nitwit gets hired they aren't there long because they negatively affect attitudes and team work. You can buy with confidence, they stand behind their product and their employees. Buy with confidence.Re: No more full size cars from GMThey have not made true luxury automobiles for many years, they've been trying to imitate European cars. I would order tomorrow, in a heartbeat, another 1979 Cadillac Coupe DeVille De'Elegance.Winter Tire MaintenanceStoring my 2019 Cedar Creek 36ck2 in a heated garage with concrete floor. Tires are at max 110psi. Keep in mind its been there for 12 months now without it moving. I assume it will sit another 6 months till next spring. 1. Should I lift or partially lift rv with 6 point leveling system to take some or all weight off tires? 2. Should I move trailer occasionally to avoid flat spots. I'm told flat spots happened on older bias-belt tires, not new radials. 3. Should I take rv for a ride occasionally to flex tires? I am trying to get to a point between neglect and ridiculous overkill. Thanks much.Re: Lowering TV tire pressuresMy 06 Ram 3500 4x4 DRW Cummins states 80psi all tires when LOADED. When EMPTY rears get 40psi and fronts 60psi. Front tires need 60psi because the engine weighs 1,000lbs. I keep fronts at 80psi because my BOSS V plow weights 1,000lbs.Vehicle for Pennsylvania to Arizona and backThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 29932507
