We also visited in May and found the park very nice and all of the falls flowing profusely. Allow a few days as there is much to see. Don't forget to take a trip to Hetch-Hetchy which is an almost duplicate of Yosemite though it is just a lake providing water to the San Francisco area - a lot of history there!! Also be sure to drive up to Tuolumne Meadows on a day trip. It is magnificent in May and there will still be snow in places as well as fantastic views along the the way through Tioga Pass. Our write up of that stay is located here on our blog.Re: travel questionState Hwy 21 is also called Blanding Blvd in Clay county and is one of the busiest roads in the county. It is 3 lanes wide each way from Middleburg into Jacksonville and the stretch from Middleburg to I-295 is wall to wall all three lanes during the day. A million stop lights but they are timed pretty well, It looks like you may be an early riser and if you can get to Middleburg by 5:00 a.m. it wouldn't be too bad. There is no problem taking a big rig through it other than the traffic. There is a Raceway on the right just as you are leaving Middleburg that we used in our 40' MH towing a Jeep. There may also be a lot of construction along 21 from south of Middleburg until you get past the turnpike. Clay county is booming! Otherwise I would suggest getting on the new turnpike (Hwy 23) just north of Middleburg to I-10 to I-295 to I-95. It will cost you a few dollars but is worth it. We have found the drive up 301 to be very pleasant though you do go through a few small towns. If you are taking I-295 to I-95 be aware there is a lot of construction near that intersection so make sure you are in the left lane of 295 a mile or two before you get to it so you will not have trouble getting over.Re: Water pump Cincy Steve wrote: Do you have pump switches @ multiple locations? All out? If just 1 is not working, it's likely that switch. Also if you have multiple locations (you didn't state your RV model/make), you will most likely have a latching controller. If you replaced your pump with one that pulls more current and didn't replace the latching controller with a heavier duty one, it could easily fail as well.Re: New RV Park in Post Falls IDClickyRe: Ft. Meade Vs. Ft. Belvoir CampgroundCan't speak to Belvoir or Andrews but we have stayed at Ft. Meade and found it to be very accessible to the DC area, as well as being a very nice RV park. It has been 10 years since our stay there but you can read my write-up about that stay in our blog when we spent two weeks there in 2012.Re: Yosemite National Park campgroundsIt has been almost 10 years since we stayed there but found Yosemite Pines to be a nice place to stay. You can read a short review of it and what we did during the week we were there on our blog posting for that stay.Re: Campgrounds along US St 36 in KansasYou may want to peruse the blog posting of our stop in 2016. I am sure some things have changed but that area doesn't really change that fast. Gunsmoke RV Park is also still open.Re: Elkins West VirginiaWe stayed at Pegasus Farm Campground several years ago and found it very nice.Re: Dry camping in SW UtahYou might look at Valley of the Gods BLM just north of Monument Valley in SE Utah. Access is UT 261 off of US 163 just north of Mexican Hat. When we drove through a few years ago there were a few C's and trailers boondocking there. Gooseneck State Park is also close by.Re: Charleston SC and Savannah GaIf you cannot get reservations for James Island, we have found Oak Plantation to be a well run park and easily access to Charleston area. We have also found Creekfire Resort to be a good alternative to Skidaway Park if cannot get into the state park.
