I used to tow a Chevy Tracker with a Ready brake system. This time I bought a used Brake Buddy to use in the Liberty. Today I tried to set it up for the first time. Whenever I hit the test button it jumps all over the place. It does not hit the seat squarely no matter how I position the back stop, and when it releases it jumps off the floor and goes toward the brake pedal(I mean it pulls itself to the brake pedal instead of pushing it). I followed the directions, but I must be doing something wrong. Any comments? Thanks in advance. Make sure the floor mat is removed. Also after you clamp it onto the brake pedal, you are moving the unit up towards the brake pedal, until just before it depresses the brake, the actuater will be as short as it can get, or all the way retracted into the unit. Then move seat forward until it just touches the unit?Re: Double TowingYou can't backup, and I doubt you will be able to see the jet ski or trailer back there unless you decide to go with a wireless camera behind the toad. Safe, depends on you, I have seen a tricycle with a drunk adult crash and injure a few folks, yet put a 5 yr old on it and they do just fine. I have a DP, and pull my D/A, is it safe, yes, would I put something else behind it, no, but I am not you.Re: 2007 GMC 2500 DuraMaxMy 07 LBZ has 150K on it, and no major issues, just routine maintenance.Re: Mexico Coverage 4X4Dodger wrote: Thanks for the link. Because of all the problems I have been seeing on this site in regards to the road side service I delegated this task (comparing RSA plans) to my good friend who has not been tainted or influenced by the negative comments on this board. I wanted a clear eyed objective view. It was she that missed this link and has been duly reprimanded :) Note to ROADSERVICE GUY (Mr Siemens); an open mind is a great thing. I do not work for the competition. I am just a customer. Last time I checked CoachNet has no site to complain on like this one when something does go wrong. I am banned from their Facebook page because I did have a complaint that CN refused to do anything about. I would challenge CN to put up a forum where members can vent, you will see the same complaints, but then again if they handled it like they do their Facebook page, you won't see anything, they will just ban you and remove your post.Re: Bad experience so far lanerd wrote: 10 days?? I can get a package sent from the east coast to the west coast by ground travel in less than 7 days...2 days by air. Why does it take GS so long to get things done by mail? I've noticed that sometimes it takes GS "weeks" to issue a GS member ship card. I don't understand the huge delays associated with GS. Ron If you want something done fast, why not do it online? If you access to post here, you can probably login, fill out the form, and be done in minutes, solves the whole problem.Re: Bad experience so far 4X4Dodger wrote: darsben wrote: You were given service but you did not like it so you chose your own company. I do not feel GSra failed and I do not think you should be reimbursed. What is it 45 miles Conway to Little ROck. Do you think they should just dispatch the closest no matter the cost? You called , they found someone in network, you refused, YOU PAY Breaking down in traffic on a major interstate poses some very serious safety issues which should be the first priority for GSRA...not which company is the cheapest. In this case THE CLOSEST and the FASTEST should have been who was called/ The OP has the issue right. GSRA should have been more sensitive to the issue of safety. He should NOT pay. If "in network" means that they are putting lives and vehicles in increased risk for longer periods of time it is definitely a GSRA failure. If it is a "Serious Safety" concern they should be calling 911, not a tow service. I wonder how AAA, GS, CN, or any ERS would know in advance where the OP was going to break down at, and know to sign a contract with the closest place before a break down occurs? If you want the closest truck to respond no matter where the break down occurs at, no ERS can do that, impossible to know.Re: Apparently it's our turn! Assistance denied on the road! However I just called today and cancelled my Platinum plan, as I head out on a 2 month trip in 3 weeks and didn't want to chance the reliability of the service given the recent instances that I am reading here, and on FB. Also, I must also note, my cancellation has in great part factors regarding the poor customer service I've received at CW relating to the repairs on my rig. For me it is over....on to CoachNet. Good luck, don't post anything negative on CN's Facebook page, they will delete it and ban you. Hope you do better there than I did.Re: 6.6L Duramax-Lift Pump Suggestions rowekmr wrote: Thanks everyone what I thought was obvious and already done I shouldn't assume. I will start with the fuel filter and go on from there. On Youtube they show removing the inner fenderwell to access the filter is there any other way? Here is how I change mine. I grab a 1 gallon zip lock freezer bag from the pantry. Proceed out to truck. Unplug the water in fuel harness. Place zip lock bag around the filter and remove. The bag is strong enough to hold the filter and the fuel and it won't leak every where. Seal up the zip lock, this keeps everything in the bag and you can maneuver it out and around all the crap. Once you have it out of the engine compartment remove the water in fuel sensor, clean it up, and install on new filter. Twist new filter on, hand tighten only, if you over tighten it you will end up cracking the housing it screws onto, and you will suck air in through the crack, and most likely will not see the crack. I have replaced a few on friends trucks.Re: thank you all that posted kardar2 wrote: Hello All, I have had my 5th wheel for a few years now. I signed up for a good sams discount card $25 (a year thing). So now I get all the wonderful junk mail. Yesterday I opened the envolope from them and I say it looked interesting. So I thought I might call them and see about getting a qoute. So it is Saturday and the wife and I was talking about it. We both love AAA and never ever had problems with them even on Highway 50 in Nevada when we were broke down. So I was going to post a question on the forum and found this sub category. Man I am really glad I did. I noticed every one fell back on AAA. So much for looking to save money. I will keep my AAA.good Sam's better get it together if they want my money. For now Good Sams no thank you. I have both, just for info. some AAA's in other states do not cover RV's. When that happens you write the check first, then fill out a form to get reimbursed, but if you read AAA's documentation you will find out there are limits. AAA in a DP will not send out a spare if you get a flat, they will tow you to the nearest tire center, even if it is after hours or they are closed.Re: Backing up with toad klutchdust wrote: I was in a situation recently where the last spot could have been mine at a rest stop if I backed my toad into the spot. It would have been almost a straight shot into the spot. If someone was able to steer the toad wouldn't it be doable? i am talking a straight shot not around a corner. Also how many times have you had to drop the toad because of bad directions or misjudgments. 30ft. Cambria with a Wrangler toad. Just my thought, but all the documentation I have ever read from any of the towed setup manufacturers state to never back when hooked up. I am will go with what the engineers came up with for the manufacturer to put in their owners documentation. If you don't have it, you can usually download it from the manufacturers website.
