But they are now 8 years old. Hankooks are tough to find now. My MH calls for an H rated tire which is 16 ply rated. The Advanta tires are J rated which are 18 ply rated. Wear for me is not a big issue as the tread wear is still low by the time they time out. I can get the Advanta for around $350 per tire plus mounting.Re: Ceramic WaxesThis is interesting. I tried the Turtle Wax on my car and RZR. It seems it really sticks. I wouldn't use it on windows. I got some on a window and had a really hard time removing it. I plan on using on my MH next year. It doesn't break the bank. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYxKQwZah1sRe: Electric Jacks LubricantI have electric jacks on my 2007 Discovery and they were nothing but trouble. The problem was the brakes we getting corroded on the jacks. Power gear had a updated seal kit which I installed. After installing the seal kit and cycling the jack every 30 days I have zero problems.Re: Class A, gas or dieselThere seems to be a some false information about maintenance on a diesel in this post. I bought a new radiator for my DP last summer for $770. My oil changes run about $205 with full synthetic oil. A lot of chassis components on a Freightliner chassis are the same as their over the road trucks. I am convinced if you say it's for an RV the price goes up. Yes maintenance is higher but not near as bad as some state. My take on this subject is to let your budget determine what suit your needs.Re: Kirkland motor oilThis is interesting. I also have sent in sample of off brands synthetic oils after 5000 miles and the results said the oil was close to being new. All of these oils are made by major oil blenders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dePQujX1g8IRe: Electrical issueI vote for the breaker buttons on the inverter. I had the same issue with my 2007 Discovery and it took me while to figure it out.Re: Best diesel pusher chassis ?I have only had Freightliner not saying they are the best, but it seems to be easy to get parts and service nationwide once they get your vin# in the system.Re: MPG for Various Class A MotorhomesI have a 2007 Discovery and usually travel with a toad or a 24 ft car trailer and honestly 7 mpg is a normal figure some days less and some days more all depending on the wind. The Cat engine seems to have a sweet spot at about 68-70 mph but also uses more fuel. I always look at it as I have bigger fish to fry than my MPG. One day I had a strong tail wind and I got 11.5 MPG . Maybe I should use that one day figure when I quote my MPG.;)Re: cummins "53"The years for these blocks were from 1998 to 2002, they were cast in Brazil. I had the misfortune of getting stuck with one of these failures in a MH.Re: Detailing RVwe winter in Arizona and my wife doesn't want to help me wash our MH anymore so I get a mobile wash service who wash the coach and the roof. I had some of these people wax my MH and didn't like their work. Since we are in the same place for 3 months I take my time and polish it With Liquid Glass. I also treat my TPO roof and polish my chrome wheels with Mothers wheel polish. If I remember right they charge me about $100 for my 39' MH for the wash job. They have done a great job.:)
