Lots of friendly people, but rebuilding over and over because of so many storms in the past years. Glad you got reservations, and on my bucket list because of great reputation. Dee Tillotson, Summerville, SCRe: Selling an RV/paymentBluedog, you certainly have a distance logistics problem! With the RV paperwork in order and a “meeting of the minds” between buyer and seller on the purchase price, I know you two can work out the distance problem; however, it will take you two a couple of days of your time to do it. By the way, I love your state!Re: Selling an RV/paymentAfter reading all this proposed transaction mess instead of a very reasonable and simple transaction, it sounds like what we really have here is a seller who does NOT have his or her title paperwork in order. You can imagine the rest of the story. I’ll give you a hint—the buyer does not come out well in the end.Re: Semana SantaChris, I noticed on, I believe, your blog that you and Juan were thinking about shopping for another tow vehicle; good time to go shopping (with a wide selection) while on the US side of the border.Re: cell phoneWandering Bob, which Cruise Line are you sailing? Beach and I have a long standing with Princess. We take our I-pads, lap-tops and I-phones. The ship usually gives me free credits assigned to my cabin or you can buy a package of credits. Both Carnival and Princess are pros at getting you started. We sent messages and pictures back home, and we got responses very quickly. What you don’t want to use the credits for is surfing the web; you will end up using up your credits very fast. Yep, all the modern conveniences. Talk with the cruise line customer service or travel agent handling your reservations.Re: Theft at a State park.......I really can’t figure out why someone would take the chance or risk of being injured or death by stealing junk, such as sewer hoses, grills, or bicycles, etc. Nowadays, people with legal permits have protection and have motion cameras on their RVs. I guess thieves think their lives are worth less than the junk or their IQ is below 100, take your pick. We’ve been lucky; the only living creatures messing around on our camp sites at odd hours are squirrels, raccoons, and grazing deer.Re: Is Playa del Carmen and Majahual safeOpnspaces — The places you have mentioned have a high degree of tourism; therefore, many bus routes will be available. The most prevalent crimes will be pick pockets or sale of small amounts of drugs. Can you convince him to take a buddy with him (boy or girl)? The “buddy system” or four eyes are better than two eyes. Give him some extra cash to hide on his person; don’t want him to skimp on good transportation, it’s safer. A law officer suggested to me for my granddaughter to give her a “church key” bottle opener to use for beer; don’t accept an open beer from anyone; your son should open his own drinks. If he learns a few rules and abides by them, he’ll be fine.Re: Displaced Florida Snowbirds Room HereAND you’ll cultivate a taste for Tex-Mex food and Texas BBQ! Very good!Re: The impact of Ian...Bears Den, hope you won’t worry so much about that; you guys and gals have enough to worry about already. FEMA and other government agencies will take care of that particular problem because of the size of their pocketbooks and authority. All I can do for you right now is donate money to the Red Cross and to the soup kitchens and meal stations. God bless you.
