I had a similar situation. It turned out to be a bad fuse holder on the positive lead to the battery. The fuse holder has a spring in it which caused an intermittent connection.
The Roost just between Custer SD and Custer State Park is a nice little campground with several cabins which are very nice. It's a good location for touring the Black Hills and Custer State which is not to be missed!
