All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: RV Flex ArmorI had my Teton roof sprayed seveal years ago and no leaks since. Was a bit costly but I planned on keeping my 2007 rig for a long time. Now if they could invent a spray on system to reverse my old age they would really have something. Highly recommended product. I had mine done in Texas near Buchannon dam and they were very good to work with and I was completely satisfied with the job.Re: Towing Nose HighSome manufactures literature state that towing "slightly nose high" is not a problem. Nowhere have I found what "slightly" means. Semper Fi., CatfishRe: Where to put a dryer ventThe shotest, most direct route to the outside would be best. Howsomeever - my vent is directly under the awning when the awning is deployed. Good for winter, not so good for summer. CatfishRe: Help and Advice on a badly placed 5th wheelUnless that 5th wheel is a lot lighter than most, I do not see how the Legs can be fully retracted. I guarantee that if I raise my legs with out the truck under it, it will fall as fast as gravity will permit. Maybe your trailer is very light on the front over hang? I like the idea of auto rollers under the legs on strong ply wood but it still is a goat rope. Good luck with what ever you do. (I was in Harvey also but nearer Houston.) Regards, CatfishRe: Awning QuestionIf the awning is installed wrong there are many rigs out there that are incorrect! I would look hard at a solution as my awning is installed the same way. Another related thing - CW says that a slide cover cannot be installed on the LR slide due to conflict with the present awning arms. I guess I will just live with it since my rig is approaching 10 YO. CatfishRe: Leveling for Towing???Closer to level is always best, but some manufacturers state that " slight nose high is Okay". No mention of exactly what "slight" means. CatfishRe: Power Cord QuestionMarinco makes a cord with 50 amp end (with twist lock connector) for RVer and 30 amp plug on the other end. I have one for use at 30 amp only sites. Mine is yellow color so can't mistake it for the 50 amp cord. Marinco is company that supplies the boat business. Of course if it is used, you still have to manage your load. Mostly only one A/C can be used at a time. I just don't like using a "dog bone" adapter. CatfishRe: Bedroom ACOn my ducted system, the BR A/C goes directly into the ducting. It does not have an inside grill that lets air dump into the BR. Some of the cooling air makes it to the rear LR . Generally we use both A/C's to more rapidly cool the unit down as we setup. The BR A/C is fairly loud and only use it in Texas in the warmer months.Re: G614 blow out on FridayI have had more than my share of blow outs using the GY tires. Both my rigs came with load range "G" from the factory. Of course my Tetons are/were heavy. I ended up changing to load range "H" on 17.5" rims on both rigs. No mo problems. I learned early on to check and re-check air pressure daily and did install a TPMS. Sure feels good to travel on the new wheels and tires with out worry. NOTE: new tires are NOT GY although GY made all my side repairs and tire replacements for free. Good folks to work with. CatfishRe: Hurricane PrepIf you decide, after careful consideration , to leave the area rather than "ride it out" please leave as early as possible. Our first evacuation several years ago was started late and we ended up making thirteen miles in three hours between Raleigh and Winston Salem. really a mad house and loads of fun, especially the part where lots of 4 wheelers ride the shoulder then pop in front of your (heavy) RV thinking you can stop on a dime. Good luck on whatever you do. P.S. We left Newport (near Morehead City) for Houston just in time to get into the deep stuff with Harvey. Now we have to stay near Houston for family medical reasons, can't leave and the next big one may hit our home area.
