I once had to trouble shoot a home dish washer that exhibited the same symptoms. Although there was supply voltage, and all the circuitry checked out, it would not run. I finally found that when the load was applied, the voltage dropped to zero. The culprit was a loose wire nut in the junction box feeding the circuit. Not only was it causing the failure, it was badly burned and a fire hazard.Re: Adding oil to engineMine is an older (1998) V-10, and the oil fill is on the left side (viewed from the front) of the engine near the firewall, yellow in color, and clearly marked "Engine Oil".Re: Tire Pressure QuandryThere should be weight rating/recommended pressures printed right on the tire sidewalls.....at least there is on mine.Re: fuel stabilizerI used Sta-Bil in my motorcycles for 30 years, then, about 5 years ago I had all the signs of sour gas in one of them. I switched to Seafoam and so far, so good.Re: Class C Water LeakMine had a minor leak that was caused by shrinkage of the rubber moulding around the cab over window. Some 3M windshield sealer fixed the problem.Re: 1998 Ford E450 Super Duty Triton V10- opinions?!Mine is a 31' Gulfstream Ultra, which weighs 14,300 Lbs. when fully loaded. I've only had it two years, but have had no problems. I've averaged around 8 to 9 MPG, but I drive very conservatively. Yes, it does want to run at high RPM for any pulling power.Re: What was your first newbie moment?I had my old class A in my daughters driveway and needed to turn around before entering a busy hiway. My wife asked if I wanted her to spot for me, but she had recently had knee replacement surgery and it was difficult for her to climb through to do that. "No, I'll be fine"......did a few adjustments back and forth, got nearly straight.....last trip rearwards and CRUNCH. I had a homemade wood box in the hitch receiver and it smashed into the garage door. Took out my roof ladder, some trim on the garage overhang, and $600 worth of new garage door. No damage to my woodbox, I build things heavy duty! The worst part is my SIL and 4 grandkids saw the whole episode.Re: Oil Change Frequency-V10My uncle was a cattle rancher and had an old tractor parked near the barn. Piled next to the tractor was perhaps 30 oil soaked rolls of toilet paper. He told me they were used as filtering medium in the tractor oil filter. He NEVER changed the oil, only the toilet paper.Re: Water tank drain in a Class "C" motor HomeI also own a 98 Gulfstream class C......my potable tank drain is in the same compartment as the water pump....rear left (driver side).Re: Starting my generator in my class C without HARLYGL94 wrote: Yes you might seem to think that Starting it will do more harm than good but Onan recommends it and so many other people say that the Onan generators will fail if you do not start them. it's called exercising it so on one hand I do agree with you but I read so much extensively about the Onan generators that's why I feel the need to start it once a month. As far as all the other winterizing engines I just use the fuel stabilizer in all of them and they start great in the spring. Yes, I should have mentioned that I DO start the generator a couple of times during winter storage and put a load on it. I do the same with my 7KW home generator. However, that is a different beast than the chassis engine. The generator engine has a very short exhaust system and no catalytic converter.
