I don't have a GD but from what I read and been told they back what they sell. I don't have an endless amount of cash so after having two fifth wheels from Northwood and only having a couple of minor issues we will probably purchase another Northwood if in the future we should desire another RV. Just review all of the RV sites and read owners complaints and how each manufacturer responded. No one wants to purchase an RV and have it sitting on a lot for months waiting while a dealer and manufacturer fight over who or if they will repair it. Buy the RV you and your family will enjoy. Happy travelsRe: Limited selectionGo with what you like. My buddy has a GD and love's it. Whenever he had an issue they responded right away and ship it right out. We have a Northwood Arctic fox and love it. The only problem we've had is broken pendants lights due to the roads. Which one does your wife like? Good luck and happy travels.Re: How about some common courtesy...I understand, but a question. What do you guys do when it's 100 degrees plus outside all day and 90 at night? We have a 2400 dollar Yamaha generator and it quit for a generator. After reading blog after blog of generator complaints we decided not to use except in emergencies and just stay in resorts with full hookups.Re: Damaged RV on roads on way home from Florida, anyone else?.Funny this topic is being discussed. Just a few days ago there was news peace on the roads and bridges across our country and it is bad. Happy and safe travels.Re: Damaged RV on roads on way home from Florida, anyone else?.Sorry to hear about your RV. I don't know about Floria's roads and or highways but in California, the roads have been bad for years and our gas tax for road repair has gone crazy. State Government is never held accountable. Our tax dollars for road repair and maintenance have been used for other programs. Just in the past few years, our roads are slowly being repaired. I know this will not help.Re: Extended Service PlanThe question is Good Sam going bankrupt. Information out on other forms that you are.Re: Water not working at all through city, but it's on outside.RP, can you give an update regarding your issue.Re: 2nd AC installed - Penguin II - Cold enough? xanth wrote: We installed a 2nd AC in our 30ft Fifth Wheel a couple months ago. Decided to go with the Penguin II low Profile 13.5 BTU over the bedroom area. Everything seems to work, it powers on and you can tell a difference when the compressor kicks on, but it just doesn't seem to get as cold in the bedroom area as I expected. Now I haven't had it on that much (we haven't taken any trips in it yet), but overall, i'm underwhelmed by its performance. I've only run it off the household current (20V). We have a 15K BTU AC as the main AC unit, and I can leave it on all day and the trailer will get chilly inside, but the bedroom one just tends to get somewhat cooler. I've done a bit of research, and some people say the 2nd AC makes the bedroom area an ice box when it is left on. Of course, others say it just cools it down. What makes me really wonder, is I had left the 2nd AC on all night (on high) the other night (forgot it was on) and when I went into the trailer the next morning, it didn't seem cool at all. Figured it might have froze over the night, so I let it sit all day and turned it on the next day. Same results, I can tell the air is cooler (coming out of the AC unit), but it is not as cold as I was expecting. Before I call Dometic to see what they say, or if they might warranty it, does anyone have any first hand experience? Are my expectations too high? It cools the bedroom a few degrees, but doesn't make it cold. Some of my research tells of a Dometic trouble shooting guide for the AC units, but my google-fu is failing me, and I can't find it. Thanks for the help! They are correct, your AC should freeze you out. I would give Dometic a call after checking the setting.Re: 2nd AC unit worth it?Yes, it is worth it, we also have two. Get the second AC (low profile) and you will be happier.Re: Cre3000 to CRE4000Had the SRE 4000 installed now for a few trips and love it over stock. SRE 4000 provides a smoother ride, nothing is out of the cabinets or broken. I would like to thank you guys for the help. Safe and happy travels this season.
