Cleans tires extremely well also. The stuff is strong so be sure to follow the instructions to a T.Re: F250 Fails at Ike Gauntlet Bird Freak wrote: If its man made it will fail. The question is when. X2 Speaking of fail, never seen anyone strap a vehicle down like that before. Why couldn't he just swap trucks instead of paying a tow bill??Re: When will it endI too would rather see increased MPG rather than HP/torque. I had a brand new 2000 F250 PSD 4x4 etc that would average an honest to God 19.5mpg pulling a car on an open trailer. Granted a box trailer drags the mileage down considerably. But I doubt very seriously any of the newer trucks will do that. Yes it had exhaust, intake and an 80hp tune. I figured it was around 325ish hp and it was enough for me. I just wish the manufacturers would offer an economy tune as well as a performance tune. I still feel like there's plenty more efficiency to be gained by internal combustion engines. 20 years ago we would have never believed that these trucks would be rolling off the assembly line with over 900 ft/lbs of torque...Re: 2017 dually vs mid 2000 dually comparisons? At that weight and the fact that this will be a dedicated tow vehicle I would look towards a 450/4500 series. I don't think there's a huge gap in price. The 450/4500 series trucks are built much heavier than the 350/3500 series.Re: Trouble with a Titan XD spoon059 wrote: SouthpawHD wrote: Doesn't this petty cattiness ever get old????? yes, it really does... X2, it's not my money you're spending...Re: Magnaflow Cat Back- UPDATE, system installedLet us know how it sounds. I have a feeling mine's going to need a muffler before too long. My truck doesn't get driven enough, therefore the water doesn't get burned out of the exhaust system sufficiently. Do yourself a favor and inspect the steel brakes lines while the truck is on the lift. I had one bust on me last weekend. I had just purchased a new to me travel trailer 3 hours from home. I hooked to it and pulled out onto the road and the brake pedal went to the floor. Lucky for me and everyone else on the road it happened where it did. My truck is low mileage and doesn't have a spot of rust on it anywhere except the brake lines :MRe: Frontal area for travel trailersCan't say you weren't warned...Re: 2016 TT may be totaledFor what it's worth, I owned an enclosed car trailer that my dad was using. A semi truck ran a stop sign and T-boned the trailer. The whole side of the trailer was damaged, axle bent etc. I was really hoping the insurance co would total the trailer but they didn't. We ended up taking the trailer back to the manufacturer (which has its own repair facilities). They told us the insurance companies almost never total a trailer, even if the repairs cost more than a new trailer. There was a 40 something foot gooseneck trailer on the lot that had been rolled and the insurance co wouldn't even total it. When we got our trailer back it was good as new though, no one could of ever told it had been repaired, and I never had any issues with it either. Don't know if camper trailers are handled in the same manner but that was my experience. The insurance company wanted us to get 3 quotes for repairs but we insisted on taking it directly to the manufacturer since it was their clients fault and the trailer was practically brand new at the time.Re: Ram Payloads- Seriously|||Correct, in some state a GVW over 10,000lbs is considered a commercial vehicle, same with utility trailers. I would take the payload numbers of any 250/2500 with a grain of salt.Re: GM's turn in the barrelSo 700 and some odd thousand owners of these trucks are concerned about the emissions levels of these trucks to the point that they're filing a suit against the manufacturer? If they're so concerned about the environment why aren't they driving Prius's instead of 3/4 ton and larger pick-up trucks?
