Good food...I think they might deliver maybe, it might be another place. Enjoy! Sher Thanks!!Re: DirecTV QuestionThe people here all have dish. After about two hours, we finally heard a signal beep, and when it got to another 93% we gave it a go ... and we got it!! I can't imagine how many times we will do this before we get it down ... especially since it will be months before we go out again. Thanks a ton to all if you that helped!!!!Re: DirecTV Question Bill.Satellite wrote: I wish you the very best. I have sooooo lost track of who's doing what I am out of here! Bill, I am so sorry if I've screwed this up. :( We are at our camp and did not have any luck. We set the elevation and the tilt from the numbers on the DTV setup screen. That leaves the azimuth. When I used the DishAlign app it has us pointing the one way, but if I use the compass, it has us pointing the dish in a different direction. Hell, I was never a Boy Scout .... maybe I don't know how to use a compass. :/ We are going to try again tomorrow when we can see outside. If we can't get it, then we are going to walk around and see if we can find a fellow DTVer here that might be able to help. Night all.Re: DirecTV QuestionThank you!!!! Now, where do I find the tilt number? I found the other two numbers on the DTV website, but they don't mention tilt.Re: DirecTV QuestionI have found out the numbers of where we will be later. Elevation: 42.0. Azimuth: 208.4. This is where I am lost. I understand that the Elevation refers to the up and down position of the dish, and that the Azimuth refers to the left to right position of the dish. But, what does that mean? When moving it left to right, how do I know where position 42.0 is? When moving it up and down, how do I know where position 208.4 is?Re: DirecTV Question tfolks206 wrote: And just to make sure, you have used the correct elevation, azimuth and tilt from directv or dishpointer websites? We were having the same trouble with ours not picking up a bird where we originally mounted it but as a last resort we put it on the ground and used the bubble level in the pipe to make sure it was perfectly vertical. Went back inside reset my receiver and it found satellites almost immediately I think this is our problem. We 100% do not understand what the elevation, azimuth and tilt info is ... or where we put that in. I put in our zip code, thinking that would set us up, but I am obviously wrong. I know I sound totally stoopid, but we don't understand this. :(Re: DirecTV Question tfolks206 wrote: #17 should be the correct setup, i just went through this issue 2 weeks ago, the satellite needs to be absolutely level vertically and you will need a satellite finder or have someone sit inside and watch the signal meter on the receiver while adjusting the antenna until you find a signal Okay, then I'll go back to #17. We will be heading to our location this afternoon, and giving it a go again once we get there!Re: DirecTV QuestionOkay, we are trying again ... with no luck. We got the power Inserter working, and no longer get the SWM not detected message ... but now it says the satellite cannot be found. Grrrrr I had selected in the setup #17 SWM-3 ... but I noticed on the back of the reciever where the coax goes in, it says SWM-5, so I went back through the setup again, and chose #18 SWM-5 .... but still no luck. Why can't it find the satellite? What else should we try? Oh, and we ended up having to run the cable directly fro the sat dish outside and through the door into the rig. We tried using the cable connector inside, but that wasn't working. :(Re: DirecTV Question tfolks206 wrote: Nekkid it is possible that you have not done the satellite rewire yet if you are trying to use factory coax wire. take a look at this Link and see that you have done that? The package/setup came with the coax we need for DTV.Re: DirecTV Question Bobbo wrote: This may be a dumb question, and I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but did you plug the PI into a 120v outlet and make sure it was getting power? If the outlet was dead, the PI won't work. I once replaced a $2000 deep freeze only to find out the 89 cent outlet had gone bad. DW was not happy. That was the reason we stopped for the night. The PI wasn't getting power. After we brought everything in, I had hubby go out and check, and we found that the GFI in the bathroom was tripped. Now the plugs have power again. Hubby is still in a meeting, so I doubt we will get to give it a go tonight. There is always tomorrow! :)
