ANY personal truck with a plate that consist of 1 number + 1 letter + 5 numbers (1A23456) is a commercial plate. Same goes for the new plates in reverse order (65432A1). So if CHP want's to be a jerk about it, the plates on your truck, even personally owned, are commercial plates and you are subject to the weigh station.Re: Custom Toy Hauler for 7K CargoYou have a couple of options: 1) ATC's newest toy hauler 5th wheel. Estimated 12k hauling capacity. http://aluminumtoyhauler.com/models.html 2) ATC Quest living quarters (Although I'm not sure the jeep will fit height wise, can't find specs on the site) http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/ATC-Living-Quarter-Trailers 3) Sundowner toy hauler - 2686GM (16' garage) http://www.sundownertrailer.com/tlr-ToyHauler.html 4) Sundowner crawlerhauler - 2486KM (18' open) http://www.sundownertrailer.com/tlr-Krawler.html 5) Double R builds custom toy haulers to your specs. http://doublertrailers.com/product/gooseneck-toy-hauler/Re: How to buy a used toy haulerThe problem I have with the NADA guide is they only let you pick from the outdated list of items. For instance, have two or three AC units all 15k BTU? you can only pick one. Have a patio kit on the back? Not an option. Have two or three televisions, all the same size? You get to pick one. Have an electric awning longer than 21 feet? Too bad, 21 is the max. The list goes on and on... Not only that, but the prices are a joke. I mean really? $490 for an electric awning? $500 doesn't even cover the cost of the awning material and $630 for a fuel station? Give me a break. I don't trust anyone that can't spell DUAL PANE WINDOWS... Duel Pane Windows $705 $850Re: ATC 28 front bedroom socaladam wrote: hvac wrote: ****, Curious how this turned out. That's a tough one to repair. Nothing yet. The repair shop is looking into it. I told them no repairs to the frame until I know what they are going to do and how they are going to do it. I also have a call into ATC engineering team for additional information. I need to know material type and thickness and also their thoughts on the matter. The repair facility had an outside welding shop do the repair and it turned out 100% perfect. Re: ATC 28 front bedroom Porkchopexpress wrote: Hello, I’m also very interested in the ATC 28’ front bedroom model. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the queen bed up front? I know some RVs go with a shorter 75” queen. If the ATC comes with a 75” queen, would an 80” queen fit and still have space to walk in front of the bed? Thank you! Standard Queen, not RV queen. 80 x 60 BUT The bed SUCKS. It's nothing more than a huge chunk of foam and it is NOT comfortable. Get a plush topper for the bed and you'll actually sleep. We bought a 3" topper and it's tolerable.Re: Winnabago Jounery w/ Cummins vs Cat dieselCAT vs. Cummins - Article to read: http://goecmdiesel.com/index.php?route=blog/post&post_id=16 Once done, realize there are more Cummins repair facilities for RV's than CAT. CAT engine repair shops are likely to be more prevalent in rural areas over their metropolitan counterparts. When it comes to power and longevity, both will outlast the majority of motorhomes they are attached to as long as you service them in regular intervals and provided there are not other issues plaguing the drivetrain.Re: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today??? That's huge, speaks volumes IMHO. Keeps getting better. Repair facility determined the sealant used on the entire roof never cured. His quote "you can stick your finger right through the sealant". Awesome... :( My laundry list of issues continues. 1) Warped aluminum side near rear windows, both sides (cannot fix locally - needs to go back to ATC) 2) Awning ripped at support (replaced) 3) Awning center support not in right position to prevent #2 from happening again (support moved up, extra rivet left in side. Fixed but ruined siding IMO) 4) Street side bedroom window does not lock (replaced) 5) Tongue jack gear noise clicking/slipping when lifting (replaced) 6) Curb Side wardrobe hanger/shelf too small, attached with one rivet (replaced) 7) Formica nightstand peeling off, not glued properly (repaired) 8) Cabinet door above fridge not riveted properly, falling off (repaired) 9) Deadbolt for front door requires pressure to lock/unlock smooth. Wife cannot pull door hard enough to unlock in case of fire. (still not fixed to my satisfaction) 10) Roof leaking - (entire roof needs reseal - in progress) 11) Nightstands damaged from #10 - (ATC sending new nightstand tops) 12) Awning motor making loud noise during extend/retract (LCI to send replacement) So far, the grand total of repairs is north of $3k not including parts that ATC has replaced and shipped to the facility. I'll update with more once I know what else needs to be done.Re: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today??? I'd get a tarp up there asap. For a quick temp patch duct tape or better yet try Gorilla Tape. For a longer fix Etranabond can do the trick, but without knowing where it's coming in and if you have an appointment I'd tarp it for now. Lucky for me it actually rained while we were home and I was able to get this addressed before we were on the road. Makes me want to keep a roll of that flexseal tape handy just in case. Either way, ATC is addressing the issues. New nightstands, new awning motor and the repair facility is going to find and fix the roof issues. Needless to say, I'm very happy ATC is willing to stand behind their product, but I'm not thrilled that I have encountered all these issues.Re: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today??? I can't believe my luck is this bad. Oh no! You have a ATC 8.5x28FB right? Yep. Got up on the roof today, found multiple points where water is making its way inside. Supposed to rain good this next week. Not sure what I can do before the repair facility can take the trailer. The list of repairs continues to grow.Re: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???Today I wiped up water from the leaking roof, pulled the wet bed out and wrote an email to the manufacturer to get yet another warranty issue resolved.
