For sure. Our budget has some money set aside each month for this, and we have some cash saved up as well in case things go wrong. We decided that we should for sure allocate additional capital towards repairs on a monthly basis just in case. Agreed, I'd say 72k a year is well beyond what you "need" to live full-time (as a couple with no children). I'll be forthright that we are attempting to FT on an income of about 3500 (post-tax) each month, which are residuals from a business I built. This allows us a modest budget for things like going out to eat, drinking, and buying stuff that we don't absolutely need, but it permits us to budget about $20 a night for campgrounds (which we intend to offset by boondocking as often as possible, to raise our per-night budget when needed). I should add the caveat that we have not set off on the road yet; we can't leave until April 1st. I'd say that the $3500/mo number (which is EVERYTHING, not just RV related stuff) is a good benchmark, but that number can be hard to reach if you have not been building your remote work income streams for at least a year or two in advance. Anything below 3500/mo would start affecting our quality of life, including limiting our travel options, campground options and food choices. But, I think we could manage on 2500 a month if we needed to. Hopefully this is helpful! qtla9111 wrote: JMHO, I think most average full timers are intimidated to post what their cost is. I think it falls into the 30K or less per year and you can even see the low end: $500 and $1000 a month fulltime budget If you only have a budget of $200 a month for fuel and your tow vehicle gets 10 miles to the gallon at $3.00 a gallon, that is about 650 miles a month. You would probably move once a week or less.
