The material is so much heavier and nicer than the OEM stuff from Dometic or Carefree. These were much less costly and the installation videos on the websites or on RVgeeks made installing them a breeze - about 20-30 minutes per slide out. We ordered four slide out covers and the bill with the RVgeeks discount was just a bit over 500.00. The fabric is durable and has a five year guarantee. We couldn't be happier with our new covers.Re: Has anyone RV camped at Watkins Glen racetrack? We have camped on the infield multiple times. It can be fun to be in the mix of the various events. However it can be HOT. Check the Glen for events and infield camping.Re: Junius Ponds Cabins & Campground Phelps, NYNear the NY Thruway. Nice place, activities and is clean.Re: RVRoof.com - Flex ArmorWe are planning to do this at the Massachusetts location this fall.Re: Inverter generators?????We have a champion 2000 inveri. Bought it as a refurbished from Super Gen (eBay). Great little Genny. Charges the batteries. Would like the larger one on wheels but too heavy for me to lift but it would allow the AC to run when dry camping. Easy start and pretty quiet for the $$.Torklift stepsDue to getting older, the three rickety steps in our fifth wheel were becoming increasingly difficult. Did some research on after market steps. Even though these were more than the Morryde, we went with the torklift steps. They were NOT easy to install as our fifth wheel does not have side brackets. We needed the vertical stud bracket in addition to the steps. However I am thrilled with them. A handy son in-law was priceless in this process.Re: Best brand 5th wheelI agree with most of what has been said. Nothing is built that well. Our Jayco Designer, 2010, has been a terrific unit for us. We have had a few Jayco's over the years. Any problem we did have was remedied quickly by either the dealer or the factory service center (which I highly recommend) However, the quality may be downgraded over the years. Avoid the word "lite" on any model or brand. Usually made with toothpicks. Be prepared to have a few issues, document all issues with pictures. Do not be swayed by the bells and whistles- compare construction, read owners forums, visit a few campgrounds on the weekends and talk to the owners of several brands; they will be pretty honest. Understand that it will depreciate severely the first few years. If you can find a nice used one with no damage or leaks that has been well taken care of (they are out there, you need to look), you might be happier.Re: Maine VacationBotanical Gardens in Boothbay is beautiful.Re: Rip in rubber roof WTP-GC wrote: Eternabond... Sounds like an echo, but really the best thing you can do. Always keep a spare roll on hand. We scraped a tree last summer pulling into a campsite. Applied several strips, overlapping the ends and I can assure you it will outlast the rest of the camper. DITTO!!! Works great! Easy and keep some on hand.Re: Propane refills - how, where, and how much?Eat your Wheaties before you do this. They are heavy!!!
