Not sure if they're available in the US.Re: Can toll booths read transponder w/C overhang? We have our EZ Pass stuck on the windshield behind the rearview mirror and haven't had any problems.Re: What is your secret trick for cleaning your front cap?One of these: Ladder I made sure it was tall enough to clear the hood of the E-450 when in the scaffold position. The one I bought came with aluminum "planks" to stand on.Re: Replacement catalytic converterSorry to hear that you're going through this. I did this over a 3 month period this winter (chasing the insurance company, finding parts, finding a shop). I ended up at an RV collision shop and, since they had a TON of experience replacing stolen cats, they had the job done in under 2 hours. Not sure if this is what EVERY RV collision shop does. In your area, have you called ProCal Truck & Equipment? Their website says they do RV repairs.Re: Catelitic Convertor protect?Search for the Cat Strap. It's what I used after I wasted three months battling with the insurance company, waiting for parts, waiting for the schedule to open up at a truck repair shop, and paying the $375 deductible. I installed it myself in under 30 minutes.Re: levelersWe purchased our class C with the Bigfoot system on it. Outside of Forest River's error in assembly (they didn't secure the sensor that tells the system when it's level so it was just flopping around under a cabinet), we've had no trouble with it in 4.5 years. I've seen installed prices in the $3,500 to $5,000 range.Re: From Large TT to Class CWe went from a 32' TT + 24' F-350 (crew cab, long bed). While we find the 32' class C we now have is SUPER easy to drive, back into sites, and set up/break camp, it does have a shortcoming. Riding as a passenger in the back in the dinette or the sofa is not as comfortable as riding in the backseat of the pick up. You're either in the meh cushioning of the meh dinette or sitting sideways on the couch. In the time we've had the C, both kids have moved out and it's just the tow of us with the dog. If you have a carload in the back of X, you may want to reconsider getting a C.Re: Suspension upgrade disappointment.I have done the usual upgrades on my E-450 chassis (bigger sway bars, Bilstein shocks, alignment with max caster), but still found the steering "loose". The MH went on a diet (almost nothing in the rear compartments, fresh tank almost empty, waste tanks empty) and I filled the Ride Rite airbags to their max. I was looking to put as much weight on the front axle as possible by taking it away from the big ol' tail overhang. The steering improved quite a bit. I'm disappointed that I can't carry much with us, but it is easier to drive.Re: Leveling Jacks pro & conLove, love, LOVE them! Back in, hit the button, done. My Forest River Forester came with the sensor box un-attached to the vehicle so leveling was hit or miss until I fixed that. I found the box (about 3x3x2) under a kitchen cabinet, screwed it to the floor in the correct orientation, and everything's been great since.Re: Thinking of a Mercedes Class CWhen we were shopping, the thing that turned us off to the MB units was the weight capacity was 50% that of the Ford-based chassis. Just something else to keep in mind while shopping.
