Here is one reference for said relay that I found. Jim@HiTek wrote: Mile High wrote: Jim@HiTek wrote: swhitney wrote: Quick look on amazon for a 30 amp transfer switch is around 75 dollars. That seems like a pretty inexpensive route. Please let me know if there is a better way. Thank you, Sean These are much less expensive, smaller too. Calling a simple relay a transfer switch adds a cost premium for some reason. Might need two, and a couple sockets for them. 30A, 12V relays... I use these relays all the time for 12V, but are the contacts rated high enough for a continuous 110VAC 30A load?. Opps...sorry! Got distracted for a couple three days. You're right, that linked relay wouldn't do the job. Here's a style I would recommend, or one like it. The P&B (Potter and Brumfield) model is what I've used for years. I've used these in many of my designs and they're very reliable, even at rated load...30A @ 240V. And they have a 12V coil. Best part is that even if you need two, costs under $10. You do have to know how to solder though. Relay! The overnight lows were pretty close during both tests, around 87*. The data recorder was placed on the first shelf up. I'm very happy with it, but I think a smaller fan would suffice, I'll make another with a 100mm fan and see how that goes this spring. photo and test results Hi toddb, Your link prompts a sign in request.Re: 2000 Watt Invertor Issues, Need HelpFor reliable full capacity operation, minimum 4/0 is required.Re: Circuit diagramEntertaining and clever, thank you for sharing.Re: how to turn off converter easilyHi Brett, The OP as well as MikeinOregons post referenced plugging the shore power cord into the inverter output. Assuming the converter is powered from the distribution center that the inverter is powering, it will be necessary to shut it off or otherwise isolate it.Re: how to turn off converter easilyTo operate the inverter in this manner the converter must be shut off. It is unclear to me why it was stated otherwise. MikeInOregon wrote: I'm interested in connecting my shore power cord to the inverter (not inverter/charger), but I'm confused by two conflicting statements in this thread about the converter being turned off. Which is correct? dougrainer wrote: So, you are using a INVERTER only? Not a Inverter/Charger? If so, you do NOT need to disconnect the Power Converter. BFL13 wrote: You do need to cut the 120v to the converter soon after you plug the shore cord into the inverter or lose a bunch of AHs in a hurry, but you won't break anything. Re: FOUND!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe a picture, license plate, anything unique, etc.Re: Firewood.. what do you do?Our local national forest office encouraged harvesting "dead and down" firewood locally. The chainsaw makes short work of clean burning cedar where we camp.Re: Expedition Tongue Weight and Bow Wave Push QuestionsI agree WD is needed. Please read your manual and any instructions with the WD carefully before installation. Tow vehicles with auto leveling suspension require some additional setup consideration/steps. After my experience, I recommend you do the install yourself. fugawi wrote: I forgot to mention that the Expedition has the autoleveling rear suspension, so it was riding level.
