The black tank exceeds my freshwater storage by 10 Gallons, I have a valve that can divert Grey from sink and Kitchen to outside "on wheels" tote IF needed, IE: hooking up to city water. The shower was moved to outside, saved a tone of floor space. Have fun -RepoRe: Sealing edges of trailer. What putty or caulking do you use?I'd GUESS butal tape.... it turns black with all the dirt it collects? also OVER the edge, most add some kind of Dicore lap sealant... so that could also come in black and have nothing to do with butal tape. PS: for better help, add some model, year information and/ or pictures, smart people will be along shortly with more answers. -RepoRe: Shopping for something that can be livable in the winter ODT wrote: Ok. Thanks for your honest input guys. This is just not my area of expertise. So a 2001 30’ Keystone Zeppelin isn’t a good winter choice. What is it worth though considering everything is in working order. Current owner started a remodel. Needs just a little trim and finish work, but mostly it’s good to go. Unfurnished (no bed or furniture). He wants $3500. Looked like a good deal to me, but I really don’t know how to say what it’s worth. This is a good deal... depending on previous owners work. One could spend another grand and buy some really nice things that'll make it "work" for your needs, primarily materials for insulating and heating. electric heat pipe wrap all you can then cover it, inclose bottom of TT and have a way to heat, thinking about water on the ground so be ahead of cord placement. In my experience NOT hooking up septic is the way to go... but have a way to dump when needed, a portable ( on wheels) can or have your stinky slinky ready to work, just keep tanks closed, RV antifreeze will be the best for toilet water IF you can replumb it for a gallon at a time. HAVE FUN -RepoRe: Tear drop suspensionKeeping in mind I'm a not a doctor..... My trucks suspension works better with more weight, were you "underloaded"? Finding a place where things like to live is a constant adjustment in my little world. One trip the pans ride just fine, the next trip I need an HRT team to secure the little pricks from moving all over the place. Have fun and let us know if'N you come up with solves to the mysteries of the universe :) -RepoRe: New to the RV world. Help a newbie.Sounds like a fun adventure... If'N I was in your shoes, I'd look at having a large metal box made that most of my valuable could be stored in when away, Like taking over a closet and having that as a secure area, in addition, a floor safe/ one bolted under bed for weapons, $$ and smaller things of greater value. Changing locks is fine for most scumbags. If I had the $$, some of that window film that stops punctures (mostly) would be handy, cost per window bearing out to something reasonable? Rv's are pretty much beer cans with a toilet, living unconcerned but prepared for bad things to happen... A hardened storage area under the TT may be another thought? have fun -RepoRe: Kitchen Water Pump issue!Sureflo makes a little itty bitty filter that goes anywhere one wants to put it, we had a 5th wheel with one under sink?? I'm guessing some owner along the way thought it filtered water for drinking ?? Re: Winter TripSO many great places to visit... Death Valley in the winter is grand, the sand dunes are "surfable" and hot spring for soaking are less populated. Joshua Tree is nice for a day or two, Pismo beach one can drive ON the beach the coastal highway is nice and there are about 60% less other vehicles to contend with. Moab is great, April will still have snow on the la Sal mountains in the distance, perhaps some ice on standing water outside but usually not freezing water in an RV cold, nice April WX. All along I-15 and I-70 are great parks: Arches, Zion., Bryce, Canyonlands.. and others less traveled... NOT to be done with a trailer but the Burr trail to the ferry crossing bullfrog basin was certainly a fun. Winding back south one could venture to Escalante cliffs and N. grand canyon. Almost all these places have a few Hot spring or nice watering holes nearby... A little jealous, have a blast wherever you end up. -RepoRe: New power outlet question enblethen wrote: hilandfrog: Tha is not correct information as the OP has a 50 amp rig. He will have a main and some branch breakers. Normally three full size connections to each side of leg. he could then replace full size breakers on the branch circuits with twin breakers. Thank you, I'd love the education if you could answer my mistakes correctly :) I stated: IF 5 circuits is the max for the power center... put in a sub panel ( so IF there were only 5 available whats preferred for adding more ? his pic looks to have 4 twins used with one ?? possible blank?? IF they were all used, and I still have needs, I don't believe I'll be overdrawn, would a sub panel be next in line... asking for a friend :) What would you do... I'm almost done in my rebuild, added more circuits than needed, so I could shut down systems at will for power on a smallish generator, may not be THE way, but it's the way it is now. Would like 3 more circuits, box is full was planning on another box in the back? I'll wager the # of circuits changes with amperage.... ( I was thinking a 30 amp would have X number and a 50 amp would add a few to X? is it just that more amps runs larger things not more of them ?) Thanks for your time -RepoRe: New power outlet questionIF 5 circuits is the max for the power center... put in a sub panel :) I'll wager the # of circuits changes with amperage.... RV industry and CODES... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... IF they could make them not leak and last their codes may be usable. -Repo
