What do you recommend as a length to stay under to achieve staying at those places?Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? I've been lurking this thread for a couple of years, so the day I flew in to Phoenix, I paid the Cruise America facility there a visit. They currently have a $3100 saving off of their normal prices right now until the end of March. I'm under the impression that they don't haggle very often; so this seems like a decent deal. Thanks for sharing this. It looks like a great time to buy if you are thinking of buying a Former Rental. You are right they don't haggle on the price. So did you put your deposit down on one? :@ :B It looks like the other majors are also having sales too. Awesome! Hopefully some folks can take advantage of it. No....no down payment yet :-( I am on what I call the Big 3 plan-- pay off house, pay cash for both kids' college, and modernize our car fleet. The fleet is taken care of, 2 more college payments (done in Dec 2020), and should have the house paid off shortly after college payments are complete. Then, I'll get serious about getting a rig. I'll be back in Phoenix in March 2021......that may just be a great time to visit Cruise America again!!Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. Like the no-frills but good quality construction. Salesman made sure everything was working to my satisfaction before leaving. I'm impressed with the power of the Ford E-450. Had no problems keeping up with traffic on the busy interstate. The key feature that sold us on this unit was the rear storage. I got two 8' kayaks and two 60 pound folding e-bikes back there. Solved a lot of issues from our previous trailer arrangement where I had to tie down the boats on roof racks and lift the bikes up high to get them in the back of my pickup camper. Now, we have no more high heavy lifting and the toys are secure from theft and the elements by being out-of-sight in a closed compartment. Unless you've got a huge Class A, I don't know of any other Class C where this is possible. Hello from the San Juan Mountains!! Many congrats on your purchase!! I am contemplating doing this also. Did you end up bring in a 3rd party inspector?Re: 2015 Ram 3500 Tradesman Diesel SRWa couple of ideas if to look at a new rig: check out Dennis Dillon or Dave Smith Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep's websites. They are both in ID. They are probably too long to go to from the east coast. But, their prices online are a great starting point to foster negotiating closer. Or Ken, indytruckchampion, over on cumminsforum is known to have treated the forum guys very well. He would be a solid day's drive to get to from your area. I thought I was going to buy from one of the ID places as I'd be up for a field trip up to there. But, my local ram dealer came down to within $500 of their price. I figured it would cost us $1000 for the 4 or 5 days it would have taken us to drive up and drive back; so was happy with that price.Re: 2015 Ram 3500 Tradesman Diesel SRWGood evening sir. I was going through the same considerations that your are.....used vs new diesel. They hold their value well. I had a former military buddy buy a new 3500 Tradesman dually for 42k 2 yrs ago.....drove it for a year and put 30k miles on it criss crossing the country for a year after he retired. Anyways, I opted to go new because the new price was not significantly higher than a used model. Then, since we keep our vehicles 20+ yrs, I opted to go with a higher trim. It should arrive in about 1.5 months as it is being special ordered. You should easily still be able to get a new 3500 tradesman for 41-43k; and you'd get the full warranty. If you continue to pursue this one, I'd consider a reputable pre buy....and focus on the coolant and oil systems.....and maybe offer low 30k's. The best of luck! That is a great looking truck! I am excited to join the ranks of Ram owner with you!!
