Gas shortages in BC to Winnipeg
News says there are gas shortages in Okanagan and spreading and as far as Winnipeg due to fire in Fort McMurray. Anyone had any trouble? Is it just Petrocan so we can assume if a larger town there should be no problems? You need to formally apply to the Canadian Embassy to have this removed from your record. A DUI on your record from the US is considered a crime in Canada. A family member of ours had it in California. Flew into Vancouver and was not allowed entry and was flown back to LA that day. She has had to pay and make a formal request to have it taken off her record. That was 5 years ago and she is still waiting as apparently it take years to go through the process. She was told that if she gets the right border guard she may be lucky to fly into Seattle and cross with a car but not by flying directly into Vancouver. It is crazy. For your kayaks you may want to check out Cortes Island. Ferry leaves Campbell River to Quadra and then on to Cortes. Provincial park there and smaller spaces appropriate for a camper. Island changes north of Campbell River. You have to love fishing fishing or an outdoor activity. You will love it. Second Ralph River as well. Continue to Gold River and from there you can also take back roads from Gold River to reconnect to the north. Does anyone else find the Canadian customs as you head back north into Canada very tight at Pacific Highway from Blaine into Surrey? We have a Class A motorhome and we really have to line up carefully with little room to spare on both sides to avoid scraping mirrors (or worse!) We did see another Class A turn off and go through the lane for commercial buses but not really sure if he should be there or how long he had to wait as he was behind a commercial bus. I have heard that the Aldergrove crossing is better but it is out of our way. Not sure how the main crossing on I - 5 is. ???2.7KViews0likes5Comments
