We are closing this now as we don't want it to become a 'downer' showing all the negative things that have happened to others. Wishing all 'happy and safe traveling'. :)Re: Has anyone rated Walmart parking lot experiences?fulltimedaniel, it is a bit of all you mentioned and more. Now, back to the OP's topic.Re: Has anyone rated Walmart parking lot experiences? The OP asked a very simple question: OP wrote: Thinking about staying in a couple "no charge" lots heading to our destination Wondering if there is a thread rating these types of places. Feeling of safety? quiet? outdoor lighting? There is absolutely no reason to come on here and bash the op for that inquiry. We will not put up with needless negative comments, this forum is to be a source of helpful information and it will remain such. Thank you, and continue on please. :)Re: Serial killers don't just limit themselves to cities.Time to move on folks. Thanks.Re: Serial killers don't just limit themselves to cities.Geezzzz..... there was nothing at all in the scenario the OP has posted calling for show of, and/or, us of firearms. Enough of those kinds of posts!!!!Re: How Are Today's Markets Affecting Your Lifestyle? When responding to the OP's question, please focus your comments on how the economy is affecting "one's travels/FT lifestyle". Where the economy is, has been, and is going, and why is NOT thrust of the op's question or this forum. Thank you. :)Re: blocked TT wheelThis has been posted, in humor, I believe; so no need to 'lecture' about doing a walk around. This comment is not directed to any of the above posts. :) We've all been there.Re: Rv Lifestyle Sticky: IIt is simply a running thread of the experiences of Ara and Spirit who are on a sort of a unique rv vennture; tenting with a motorcycle over a period of several years. We just thought this 'alternative' approach may be of interest to the readers.Re: Anyone with a lathe?MNRon, I really enjoy taking my lathe with me at times. It is quiet, yet does cause a curiosity of many campers as they walk by and lends to some great conversations. I usually carry a few 'small blanks' I can turn and use as 'give aways' when people stop by, such as wine stoppers, pens/pencils, book marks, etc. I am a bit older than you so I do have to watch at what angle I lift relatively heavy objects.Re: Anyone with a lathe? You didn't give your age, OP. I also have carried a lathe at times and really enjoyed it but it was for turning between centers and not a bowl lathe. Mine weighted a max of 75 lbs. I think it depends where you are going to store it. I found it quite a strain on my back to load and unload it from a storage compartment due to the angle I had to bend. I suggest you keep your weight to a minimum. I also spread a small tarp below the table when I was turning to be able to collect the shavings and not leave a mess in the campground.
