Massachusetts to Disney Ideas
I am trying to plan a trip to Orlando. When leaving Massachusetts, I always avoid NYC, Philly (sometimes Baltimore and DC) by going way out into Pennsylanvania and cutting back to 95 in Virginia. This time, I honestly, would like to avoid NYC and maybe come back in on 476, SW of philly. (Trying to avoid major tolls and traffic). Any advice that I can sneak through (maybe 202 in NJ to 476) or any other idea where I avoid NYC and major tolls but don't go too far west? Thanks! I am planning a trip for late spring in the Black Hills Area. I am just putting together a route and already know my RV cannot go on the Needles Hwy. (****!) My question is: Can I safely take my RV in from Wyoming on Route 16 into the Black Hills and at Custer jump on 385 to Palmer Gulch KOA? Just making sure there are no surprises along the way where I can't fit like I researched on the Needles. I may have answered my own question as the campground gives directions on 385 from Custer, but 16 in from Wyoming and personal experiences are appreciated Thanks! I know (Common Sense) I should just take 84 through Connecticut over the Tappan Zee to 287, 78, 81 to Winchester, VA etc, etc... However, I am looking at pro's/cons of going around NYC but then back on 95 through Baltimore/DC... Also, stay away from Chesapeake Bay Bridge? I've heard horror stories.
